I usually stay and hang out mid-strip but decided I wanted to try THEhotel for a night coming up. For those that have stayed there, it seems like it is a lot quieter there- is there a separate check-in for that tower? Is Mix worth going to for a drink since I am staying right there? Thanks!

I'm also usually a mid-strip fan, and stayed at TheHotel@MB for a conference last year.

TheHotel does have a separate spot for drop-off and its own check-in desk. The lines are typically shorter than the normal MB check-in.

Additionally, I found the tower to be VERY quiet - I would not hesitate to stay again.

I believe with your key you can get into Mix free or discounted (or maybe that was just a special when I was there) - regardless, the view from there is outstanding and I recommend trying the restrooms with a view :)

The only downside, as you are probably aware of, fellow mid-strip fan, is the location. Cab to pretty much anything.

You are sleeping at TheHotel but for all practical purposes you are at MB. Lots to see and do at MB.

The bar atop is free entry and quiet during the earlier hours.

My wife and I stayed at TheHotel for our anniversary in 2011. I really enjoyed it. The rooms are very nice and the check-in is both separate and faster than MB. The spa there also is really cool for $25 a day.

I love the whole MB complex and have stayed there multiple times. My favorite Mexican restaurant in the world is Hussong's in Mandalay Place and my favorite steakhouse is StripSteak. Nice variety of dining/gaming options and the tram gets you to Excal pretty quick if you want to explore the Center/North part of the strip.

We've stayed at all three hotels on the MB property numerous times over the past 15 years. Most often we stay at Four Seasons (our favorite hotel on the MB property). We stay at least one trip/year at THEhotel (we stayed there January 10-14, 2014). We aren't as thrilled with regular Mandalay Bay hotel rooms so we haven't stayed there in 2 or 3 years.

Be sure to specify to your cab driver that you want to be dropped off at THEhotel, not the main Mandalay Bay entrance.

THEhotel's lobby is well-staffed, and check-in/check-out is generally much quicker than Mandalay Bay. The VIP check-in line is to the far left as you walk up.

In addition to taking the tram to Excalibur, you can walk through Mandalay Place shops, then across the Luxor casino level, then follow the walkway to Excalibur. It takes about 10 minutes if you walk at a reasonably brisk pace.

My favorite steak house on MB property is Charlie Palmer Steak at Four Seasons. We like rm Seafood (in Mandalay Place) and Tacos & Tequila (on the entertainment level in Luxor) .

    Enjoy!

Go for it! THEHotel is our home base.
Yes it's very quiet but not too quiet!
The atmosphere and vibe really change when crossing the threshold from MB to TH.

Mix is well worth checking out. Drinks are pretty high priced but you cant beat being out on that balcony!

Cool, thanks so much for all of your input! Since I usually stay at Aria or the Cosmopolitan, I don't venture as much down to Mandalay Bay, but thought it would be fun to stay at THEhotel for a night. It sounds like a great place to stay at!

I think walking is sometimes quicker. And more fun.
