I am curious to learn what are your vegas interests/activities by order of importance. Here's my list:

    1. Frugal/comped, cheerful rooms (also cheerful, fun-filled property aka atmosphere)

    2. Exploring/new experiences

    3. Shows

    4. Pools

    5. Couponing

    6. Partying/lounging/clubbing

    7. Frugal, tasty food

    8. Gambling/playing

    9. Restaurants (because frugality is more important to me)

    10. Attractions

I am certain I am missing something....

    Another great thread Sco!

I hadn't really thought in depth about what I like about Vegas, but now that you led me to do it, it is actually different than I might have initially expected:

#1 Hanging out & bullshitting with buddies I only see a couple times per year.
#2 Lack of day-to-day responsibilities, escaping from the routine/work.
#3 A nice room at a nice hotel (lately Cosmo, but Aria/Bellagio/Caesars work)
    #4 Drinking early & often!
#5 Eating at my favorite Vegas buffets and other nice restaurants.
#6 Lounging at the pool or spa.
#7 Hot chicks. Viewing only, since I'm old, married, and have no game. :evillaugh
#8 Roulette---my first true love in the gambling arena.
#9 Video Poker--always torn between boner deluxe and DDB.
#10 Craps--smart betting on pass line to finance stupid betting on Hard 8!

1- frugal room. if the rooms arent affordable, i will wait until they are to go. the room need to have a halfway comfy chair because i spend alot of time in it. i like hanging around the room drinking beer.

2- cheap drinking. not really a service that i need provided as i can just drink in my room. cocktail service is a jackpot in my book.

3- frugal eats. I need to eat at least 4-5 times per day so i dont need fancy foods with all of that consumption. just something cheap and tasty, ie hot dogs, burgers, gyros.

that about the extent of the list. i make my own fun by combining the above.

    1. Gambling. Folks on this board are wont to say, "I can gamble anywhere". And they're right, of course. But no other locale offers the variety and quality (dealers, odds, atmosphere, comps, etc.) of gambling that Vegas does.

    2. Hotels. I love staying in a great hotel and Vegas is full of them. Even the ones that aren't luxurious and high-end are still interesting and fun.

    3. Food. Sure, it's not what it was five years ago (in terms of creativity or value). But Vegas still offers plenty of good eats for any budget and taste.

    4. Booze. Great booze and an improving selection of beer...for FREE. Is more explanation needed?

    5. Vibe. The people, the excitement, the lost inhibitions, the sights, the weather (other than summer)...

    6. Escape. Sometimes the real world sucks.

    7. Resort Fees. I love these things...or so I've been told.

I like a good clean atmosphere with a fun crowd.

    I like good food.

I like a clean, comfortable and easy to get to room.

I like easy access to other properties to enjoy as well.

I like good VP, although this is getting harder and harder to find.

    1. Drinking/partying. Not to be confused with "clubbing". More like hanging out/meeting people who are cutting loose and enjoying Vegas as much as I am.
    2. Gambling and dining (tie)
    3. Live music, whether it's a free lounge act or a concert
    4. Checking something out/doing something new that I noticed on my last trip
    5. Keeping an eye out for something new to try for the next trip

    148. Sleeping
    149. Staying sober

    1. quality rooms in one of the newer hotels (next time, aria)
    2. Gamblin
2a. low stakes Blackjack for fun
2b. slots (new concepts, bonusgame ideas etc) as research for (self-employed) work
2c. learning more and more completly new games: craps, VP (game itself is easy, i guess - but what to look for) etc.
    3. enjoying the dry climate outside (and heat when possible)
    4. checking out the typical tourist attractions of the resorts / vegas itself (including off strip casinos; e.g. love sams town for its trashiness)
    5. good food that i don't get at every street corner

One important thing: I don't drink while at casinos....

Personally, anything I want in Vegas, I can get in Reno. (Good odds, good comps, good food)
But in Vegas, the atmosphere is what I go for, and the theme hotels.

1.) Must give me good comps (free room; ability to earn points at 1%)
    2.) Must have decent video poker (25c 9/6 JoB+)

    That's pretty much it.
