Wanted to take a newbie out to Hoover Dam on a weekday morning, and plus, I want to walk across the new bridge.
Are there still traffic jams out that way?

The new bridge has reduced many of the traffic hassles. But of course any day there could be a problem, but I wouldn't let that stop me from going out there.

The walk across the bridge is amazing, especially to anyone who has never seen it.

Chef, since you're a walker there is a hiking option that avoids most of the traffic. I did it a couple of years ago. There's a trail that along Lake Mead that follows the path of an old railroad line (you walk through several tunnels along the way) and ends up at the top of the Hoover Dam parking garage. Very cool.

There are different places where you pick up the trail to control the length of the hike. We parked at a casino along 93 and the trail was a short distance behind the parking lot.

    Just a different suggestion!

P.S. Before you get to the parking garage, you'll see a parking lot across the road that has a foot trail up to the new bridge. Quite the view.

    Reston,
Brilliant plan. I forgot all about that trail. Thanks my friend for jogging my memory.
