Do you get as excited for other trips as you do for Vegas?

I find that when I travel other places I hardly plan. There usually is not that much to plan. In Vegas I can do so many things and I can do it at a good price. Planning is so much fun for Vegas and the anticipation is much sweeter.

Is there a difference in your excitement for your Vegas trips compared to trips to other places?

    Spot-on... nothing else comes close.

Planning - yes, there is much more to plan and do - that adds to the fun. Anywhere else, I might be able to look at upgraded rooms if I'm in a hotel, or what car I want to rent.

It's exciting to visit Vegas since you always have a chance of coming home with more than you brought.

When you travel elsewhere, most likely you won't have the opportunity to come home with more money than you brought.

Hmmm, can't really say. Other trips are to visit family. Vegas is our only true vacation place. So, I guess I would have to answer if my excitement for visiting family compares with my excitement for visiting family.......I rather not post my response here. :wink2::wink2::wink2::wink2:

Not even close... after all these years (about 20) of monthly Las Vegas visits, I still get "up" for each trip. San Francisco and New Orleans are not too far behind, but I only go there once every couple years these days.

Same level of excitement when the trip is right around the corner, but nowhere near the same excitement when the trip is still 6 weeks out. Most of my other trips are drivable, typically for sporting events. So not needing to plan as much as far in advance probably contributes.

I get really excited about going to Vegas. I really love the freedom you have to pretty much do as you please there. Drink in a cab? Sure! Put big money on black and then throw away the winnings on stuff at the Forum Shops? Sure! Ride a rollercoaster and then go downstairs to sing along with the band in an Irish pub? Sure! The only other vacation spot I get as excited about is Maui.

I get as excited for our annual 2 weeks in Aruba (even more probably) as I do Vegas. Just got back from Aruba; it is always wonderful to escape winter and get together with all the friends we've made in Aruba over the years.

Having that problem right now. Going to NYC next week for Valentine's Day and Vegas in June and my wife is getting angry that I keep trying to plan Vegas and don't want to talk about NYC!

I haven't gone "anywhere" besides Vegas yet. But, I'm pretty sure it would be Vegas and then the rest of the world. Although I'm easy to please and can have an adventure anywhere. So, I get excited when I know I'm going to spending time with a fun person.

Im pretty much the opposite...Going to Vegas has become a routine so I dont really plan too much. I dont need driving directions, a rental, flights, reservations, etc. I just call and book a hotel offer, and then jump in the car and go...sometimes I dont even plan what I pack...just toss clothes in a bag and hit the road

When I travel elsewhere, I plan like crazy...make a detailed itinerary, print all confirmations and put a folder together with all details etc.

No. I get a bit excited for my excursions to the US Open (golf). I'm already planning for Chambers Bay in 2015. Planning trips to Colorado or New Mexico can keep me interested for a few weeks. BUT, nothing gets me as excited as receiving mail or emai from a Vegas casino/hotel offering free rooms or seeing good prices for airfare to Vegas. I'm always in some stage of planning my next Vegas adventure; even when there isn't a trip on the calendar, yet.

    1. Vegas
    2. New Orleans
    3. Royal Caribean (minus an outbreak)

New Orleans was number 1 in my mid to late 20s before having real disposable income.

I totally agree! Our next Vegas trip isn't until early December of this year and we are already super excited. Every day I spend tons of time reading and planning. No other vacations really spike my excitement like Vegas!!

No. I'm just heading back home from Vegas, and I'm thinking about when I get to go again, not my western Caribbean cruise in 3 weeks.

Hmm, actually I am not really excited for my upcoming vegas trip (and that is not bad!): I have lived in 4 different countries in the last four years and therefore every place is always new and exciting - and there is lots to discover within a couple of hours by car or plane.

The vegas trip is, compared to that, a way to experience something familiar; and relaxing compared to the everyday stress of life.
