There have been a number of posts on the official fan board implying that the days are numbered, and the admins. are being very coy about the comments.

Anyone know if the end is near ???:(

No idea, but if it is, glad we just booked another trip! We still have a lot of LPs to spend tho. :(

I don't think there is an official fan board anymore. If you mean MyVegas Friends, that group splintered and disassociated itself from the game. I don't believe there is an official fan board anymore.

I doubt the game is going anywhere anytime soon. MGM Resorts keeps sending emails pushing the game and I doubt they would go to that much trouble if the game was winding down.

I agree: I would have to hear something first from MyVegas itself before I'd be believing that the game is going away.

I'm not saying that couldn't come to an end, just that remembering back to when MyVegas started and pretty much for the first year everybody was saying it was going to go away and people who couldn't understand how they could make money out of it and keep it going kept saying its days were numbered... so its hard to say if this "news" is actual news based on facts and information or just idle speculation from a bunch of dumb-asses.

My thoughts? I don't think MGM is getting rid of myVEGAS, they'd more likely just continue to devalue LP's until they were basically nothing, then end it.

I'm over 700,000 LP and I've never paid a dime for the game. I hope to get something out of it at least eventually. If not, well, it entertained me for many an hour :)

Ya, I would think now is not the time to take the game away completely. They promote it in the casinos, and trained all the employees at the casinos on how to issue the rewards. And they are still adding rewards like freeplay. I think until they start making rewards ridiculous to redeem with LP;s, and keep taking away decent rewards, we are ok.

I don't think they will end the game. They will alter how long it takes to get LP's or raise the amount of LP's required for good rewards, depending on what makes sense financially. With the amount of time it takes to get decent LP's, they are doing a good job of keeping Vegas on peoples minds. There are tons of slot games for facebook and for mobile apps, but this one is a constant reminder of Vegas, so its constant advertising.

I always assumed that myVegas was just a placeholder until online gambling was fully legal in the States and they could flick a switch and allow people to also play for real money.

As with all games there were better prizes/rewards when the game was new to create a buzz.

That was MGM's intent when they came up with Wagerworks. Legal online gambling all over the US never materialized then.

I doubt it, they just did the mobile app, and the roadtrip and all that. There has been a bunch of new rewards. I don't see why they would! Still tons of people play. If they do it'll probably taper off... They have several million players, probably not a great idea to anger than many potential customers. They do make money off this. Not like they are just running it for fun.

IMO MyVegas is more of an advertising/marketing tool. They are basically getting free advertising every day, building brand loyalty for tons of people, booking rooms that might otherwise be empty, getting people into shows and restaurants they might otherwise not go to, etc etc. It's driving a lot of business for them and it's not going anywhere anytime soon.

Everytime there is a dustup with a fan page, people think that if they quit it the game will end.

I got a survey a couple of weeks ago from MyVegas asking how interested I would be in seeing rewards for theme parks such as WDW, SeaWorld, etc., so if anything they are considering expanding not ending.

I'm sure they're closely watching the metrics for the game. How much are they making off of chip sales and how much people spend when they get to Vegas in addition to whatever comp they've earned.

I could see the game sticking around for a long time but tighten up what you can get. More buy one get ones instead of out right free offers. A buy on get one at a Buffet or show has to be profit for them in all but the rarest of circumstances.

    Hey Now!

I too have my doubts. I saw people using and talking about the rewards all over the MLife properties over New Years.

Yep, they amount of time they get your eyeballs looking at MLife resorts has to be worth it for them. For things like a comped room, people either have to buy chips or play for a long ass time, so I don't see how they're getting burned - especially when comps are so common in Vegas.

They probably were in the beginning. I read several accounts were two people teamed up with their comps and were able to get a free weekend in Vegas with most of their food paid for also. I'm sure that mostly explains the reduction of benefits.

Ending? With a contest for 1 million coins out there? Don't think so.

    No way.

I think this game is more profitable than people realize.

There are tons of crazy people out there constantly spending $200 on chip packages.

And now with the big push for the mobile version, no way it's ending any time soon.

Oh this is exciting to hear!

It's even more comforting to hear all the reasons myVegas might be here to stay for a little while.
