On a recent visit to vegas (Dec), I reached diamond status with TR and was assigned a host at the Flamingo. We are going in a week but this time I'm staying at caesars palace.

Sine my host at flamingo took care of my charges last time I was wondering who I would check with when I check out of caesars? Should I call over to the flamingo and speak to my host, or will I be assigned a new host when I check into the diamond check-in at caesars? Or as a third option, should I just ask the total rewards desk on check-out to see if they can take anything off my bill?

Talk to your host. It's all CET so he or she should be able to help you out, or at least tell you who to talk to.

see host on duty in vip when checking out see if they can remove charges.

have you tried contacting your host at flamingo and letting him know you are staying at cesars this time that might be an option

I actually did let hi know via an email that we were making an impromptu visit to Vegas and told him that we were staying at Caesars this time. To be honest he seemed unimpressed, I mentioned that will I'm there I'll pop over to Flamingo and giv e them some play!

I guess I'll just check into VIP services when I check out of Caesars!

It may or not be a "Flamingo" specific host. We use a host that happens to be at Planet Hollywood. She has booked us into Harrahs, Caesars and Paris. All phone type stuff.

When you say that the casino host at Flamingo "took care of my charges," do you mean that the host simply removed your room and food / beverages charges from your bill at checkout -- or that he/she applied your accumulated TR credits to cover those bills?

If it's the former, then it would surprise me if you get the same treatment at Caesars without having an on-property host. (The application of discretionary comps by a host is not the norm at CET properties.)

If it's the latter, then anyone on duty at the Diamond/7 Stars check-in desk will be able to handle the use of your accumulated TR credits for comps at the end of your stay.

I'm thinking that maybe your host didn't seem impressed because, as far as I know, they only get credit for your play if they make the room booking for you. I may be wrong and if so someone can correct me.

Oh, and I almost always stay at Caesars now but I still love the Flamingo and have stayed there 13 times.

He removed the charges that I has on my room bill without using any Reward credits, so I guess he used a discretionary COMP it that case. My Room was already COMPED upfront. he just basically wiped out my food charges.

I thought that a host was tied to a property and that is the only reason I didn't shoot Mike an email before I booked. I actually asked him in an email after I booked what I should do in the future and he said it didn't really matter, either book through the website or email him, but if I have any problems with the booking email him for sure.

I book through my host at Caesars no matter where I stay. For New Year's, my offers were for Planet Hollywood, Flamingo or Rio so we stayed at Planet Hollywood but he still did all of the booking and we stopped in to see him the day before we were leaving and he told us to just leave the next day and that he would take care of checking us out.

Our host has been a host for 28 years at Caesars though so maybe he just still does it the old way.

I've also heard that as soon as you check in, he gets notified that you're there. I don't know this for a fact though.

Have a great time at Caesars, we'll be back there in April!

cet is run differnt from mlife

cet actualy has hosts that handle you for all vegas properties and actualy all there properties ,like regional host ,its a differnt ball game but if you play one casino most they will designate that your home casino in vegas where you give the most action too.

If you don't end up making arrangements ahead of time, or don't get assigned a host at check in, what I'd recommend is:

When you're done playing, let's say late afternoon or the night before you leave, stop by the host office at Ceasars. It's to the left of the cage, just around the corner.

I don't have an official host (as far as I know) at Caesars, but on a trip a couple of years ago, I did this and was able to have a substantial amount removed from my bill, way more than I expected, by a kind of junior host who just happened to be on duty. And she's been helpful in answering questions via email.

I tend to think this is a better route than doing it at the TR desk.

Anyone with MLIFe or Cosmo experience with this? Last time I went by the MLIFE desk the morning of my check out and got a few things knocked off the bill which was nice. Perhaps I should go to the host anyway...

At MGM properties, in my experience, if you go to the MLife desk to have charges removed, they call VIP Services, which actually makes the decision and removes the charges. If you have a host, the host can do it.

I don't know whether an MGM properties host would be able to comp more than VIP Services or not, I think probably yes, but I don't really know. I stayed at MGM Grand a couple of weeks ago and did $20k coin in over 5 nights and had about $3,800 in actual losses and VIP Services only took the two cheapest nights off my bill, about $200. And this was after I had gotten downgraded two levels from my original reservation at check-in. I probably should have gone through my (newly assigned) host who knew what had happened, I might have gotten more taken off.

I would contact the host, except it's going to end up being my first and last time at MGM Grand either way.

Reservation made 4 months in advance, checked with VIP and the suites dept to get the lay of the land, 5 figures in front money, arrived on a Monday morning during a slow week, go to check in and it's "VP of suites, due to availability, unfortunately, blah blah blah". Downgraded two levels. No chance to bail because everything equivalent was booked at Aria. Asked if I could swing a deal for a Terrace Suite and they quoted me the prevailing (ie. walkup) rate.

Asked my host if she could help out and she couldn't, said it was just bad luck of the draw.

MGM Grand was a little too much of a mob scene for me anyway. I did get a chance to see the suite I reserved when I noticed housekeeping was doing a clean out a couple of days later, it was nice. Too bad, back to Aria I go, I already got an email offer from them based on my play at MGM.

I have been using a host at Rio for a few years who books my rooms at any Caesars property in Vegas. I probably stay at Rio about half the time. Usually I give him a call in the first 24 hours or he calls me. When I get ready to check out, I call him and he takes care of what he can.

If staying at Rio, I usually get a call to the room right away so he must get notified when I check in. Also, whenever I start playing VP or slots, he gets notified via phone as he has stopped by to see me several times.

At the beginning, I was booking my own rooms using the calendar or offers. He said to always book through him because he can do better sometimes, which he has. He can do better at Rio and has upgraded me to a Masquerade Suite last trip and next trip. Can't really do that at the others.

At Caesars properties in other cities where I don't have a host, before checking out I call the host desk and ask them to look at my play and see what they can take off. So far it has worked well in laughlin and Bossier City.
