ok - this is not about Vegas, but about a craps session in AC

My wife and I headed down to AC last Monday for a two night comped stay at Revel. We spent Monday afternoon looking at beach houses in Brigantine to rent for a week this summer. We found one we liked, so our plan to go to Ocean City the next day to look was cancelled.

We checked into Revel about 3 and I played a bit - buyin in for $200 and cashing in $150 after an hour. We headed to Borgatta for dinner and a (comped) generally forgettable Comedy Club show. After, I bought in at a table there for $300, played a few $25 match play coupons and cashed out $280.

Tuesday morning we woke up to a forecast of a major snow storm. So we spent the day at the eating, drinking, enjoying the pool and getting massages at the spa while the snow piled up. I made a couple more trips to the tables with similar results. Blew totally through a $200 buy in one session. I figured I was down about $400 by that point.

While my wife was getting dressed for dinner, I bought in again at $200 and colored up $165 an hour later as we headed to a nice dinner. About 9:30, she headed to bed and I took my $165 to the only open table. The casino was empty - but there were about 6 people at the table. The shooter had just sevened out so a spot opened up straight out. Next to me was a young couple - their first night out after having a baby 6 weeks ago.

The shooter was next to the stick on the left - a young woman with a guy in a yarmulke. She was rolling and he was managing the chips. She goes on a run that was one of the best I have ever seen in my 30 years playing craps. It was only a $5 table and I started conservatively. $5 pass 3 or 4 times odds. I started placing the even numbers and pressing them up after a couple of wins. She was unconscious! Number after number - hard, soft - easily hit 8 or nine points. I had my place bet on 10 up to $175 and my six and eight up to $90 each. I had at least a nickel on each hard ways plus a nickel each for the dealers. I moved to $10 pass plus max odds. At one point, she threw the dice off the table…I got nervous. I told the dealer to take my bets off one roll. He did and asked “hardways too?” I said no, let em play. She made the point - a 5-5 Hard ten! $70 for me, $35 for the dealers plus $110 for the pass line bet and odds. It was that kind of roll!

After close to an hour, the roll came to an end. I colored up $2400. The young couple next to me colored up almost the same. I realized they were not very experienced players and were pretty much just copying my bets. The shooter only brought in about $400. What a shame. I put the $2000 in my pocket and played a bit more. I knew nothing would match that run, but I was too keyed up to walk away. I played anther hour - up and down, nothing special. I cashed out $2280.

So I won enough pay off my dinners, spa and re-coup all my losses. Plus a good bit more. What a great way to spend a snowy day.

Nice win, for some reason my biggest wins have always come from someone who had no dice control and just chucked em down the table. makes you wonder how effective setting really is.

That gets my blood pumping there...nice hit!

I haven't been to AC since 2006ish before I moved away.

Speaking of houses down the shore...if you don't mind my asking what's the going rate these days for a week?

We used to go every summer down Cape May but I haven't been in about 10 years. I'm coming back for some time this summer and would like to rent a place for a week.
