We plan to spend some time downtown at the Mob Museum and just walking around. Was looking for a good restaurant for dinner. I don't know much about downtown so any suggestions welcome.

I really enjoyed my dinner at The Flame Steakhouse in El Cortez. There is a 50% off coupon (up to $25) in the American Casino Guide. In my opinion, prices are reasonable, even without the coupon.

Call us crazy, but we're suckers for Hugo's Cellar. Good food, great service and it's really got that "downtown feel" to it. Another place we always eat is Lillie's Asian in the GN. That's more of a tradition than anything else. The food's good, though.

If you're willing to stray from nice, traditional, sit down, there are lots of quirky choices in and around Downtown I might suggest, if you're interested.

Gotta second Hugo's... probably my favorite downtown with Triple George close behind.

For a special meal... Andiamo's Italian at The D is very special... as is Hugo's at Four Queens... both have real special meals... on my bucket list is the Chicken Fried Lobster at Binion's Steakhouse with the penthouse view.
    ---
The question of specials for eating... both expensive and inexpensive was thoroughly discussed about 2 months ago... by me, Texas Gramma... and others added their comments... go to the Search Engine on this page and put in Eating Ideas for Downtown Vegas and usually the comments by Texas Gramma are the 2nd thing on the list...
    ---
Hope you get to enjoy some of the special things on the list on your trip!

Triple George Grill is just up the street from the Mob Museum and has great food and a cool, old-school vibe with dark wood booths with high walls.

Im a big fan of Top of Binions Steak house, food is very good and view pretty much to die for. Can be a bit on the exspensive side for downtown, but the atmosphere of the place sells itself. Can just imagine some of the dinners that took place up there over the years! Definitely a place all downtowners should try out at least once!

If you want something on the cheaper side, my other favorite place downtown is the triple 7 brewery inside Main street station. They have a huuuuge menu, anything you can think of almost, ive not had a bad meal there yet!

Hugo's Cellar is excellent. You can get 25% off discount coupons at the Tickets place in the Fashion Show Mall.

I'll throw out a nod for Hugo's as well. We had a party of 8. We were quickly seated and the service was fantastic. The food was very good.

Same party ate at Binion's the next night. The view was nice, however our service was terrible and the food was average at best. I'm from Texas and know a great steak. Unfortunately, the steaks we had at Binion's weren't close to great. Your taste will probably vary from mine so it makes since that your results may vary as well.

I've had great meals at Andiamo (The D), Vic & Anthony's (Golden Nugget), and Hugo's (Four Queens)

Considering the proximity to the Mob Museum, I'll cast another vote for the Triple George.

If I can jump in on this: How about any late night specials, steak and eggs or other? AND, best breakfast for 2 under $20 total?

I believe the Fremont has Steak and eggs at their cafe for a good price, also Binions Cafe has some good late night specials as well! Not sure how late the El Cortez cafe is open but possibly there as well!

Joe is correct about Pasta Pirate, an overlooked gem that has reasonable prices.

Binions Steakhouse, nice view, great service and we had a very good dinner last summer. However, it's showing a bit of wear so make sure you eat after dark, it improves the ambiance.

I like Triple George but don't like the back room. Make sure you eat at or near the bar area.

I love The Flame and enjoy the piano player but it is a bit lower rent.

In my opinion, Vic and Anthony's is the best room and offers quality food. However, without a comp it is overprices.

DonnyC's question about breakfast for 2 under $20 in the late hours...Four Queens Magnolia Grill is open 24 hours and has a ham steak and egg special that is well under $10 and sometimes if you go to the desk where you get your player's cards, you can get some 2/1 specials.

There was a thread about midnight specials in December... put graveyard special in search engine and a bunch of stuff comes up... the first 4 or 5 are for downtown Vegas...the one I am referring to was on Dec. 7
    ---
Also, I posted a thread about good food values downtown... If you put Downtown Eating in the Search Box, it comes up...
    ---
Hope you have a wonderful visit to Las Vegas.
