We got a TR deal at PHo and I booked it but being a loyal MLife patron, I'm a bit skeptical. I checked out the videos on YouTube and the rooms don't look too bad. There is one room called a resort vista king - which is an upgrade but I'm not sure how much more $ they are.

What are your opinions on the PHo rooms?

We just stayed in a Hollywood Hip room over New Year's for the first time. HATED the room. It's small and dark with only two shallow drawers to put your clothes in. The bathroom was big but the toilet kept running and occasionally wouldn't flush.

Loved the Casino but hated the room. Will be going back to our usual Caesars Palace in April.

I have stayed there the last couple of vegas trips and I just feel the rooms have a runned down feel to them

Loved the rooms but can't stay there because of the small windows. I need floor to ceiling big window.

Check our their trip advisor page. There's a lot more detailed photos of the rooms. Overall though, they have a ton of good rooms. You can't really go wrong.

Compared to the Mirage...what do you think? We usually stay there but wanted more mid-strip this year with a view of Bellagio. I really wanted to stay at the Bellagio but they aren't tossing me any comps or good deals so far.

Planet Hollywood is my wife's favorite place to stay when we visit. The windows are small compared to the MGM but the rooms are perfect for our stays. It nice being in the middle of the strip. Last September we were upgraded to a resort king and it was a little bigger overall but the main difference that I noticed was there were two vanities in in the bathroom on opposite walls which my wife loved because she had room for all her stuff. Next trip we are booked there again.

Stayed in a strip view Hollywood Hip room this summer, and mostly agree with the comments above. It was fairly dark, could use a refresh, bathroom was large. I will say that the window was actually the neatest thing about the room--it was big enough and spacious enough to serve as a kind of bay window. Both my wife and I could comfortably sit in it and look out on the strip.

To my great surprise, we really loved the casino vibe as well. (We're pretty quiet, academic types, and PH was a nice change from "real life.")

The Resort Vista Kings with strip view are my FAVE rooms in Vegas. I haven't stayed in tons of places but I have stayed in stayed in a few suites at Paris and a new jubilee tower suite at Bally's.

The room is spacious. The bathroom is HUGE with a gigantic tub that has a 42 inch screen. It had 2 separate vanity areas and a separate toilet room.

I can't help you with upgrade costs. I was booked it it by a host but seem to remember that they offered a buy up to my friend who was in a Hollywood Hip.

We stayed is one room that had a HUGE circular tub.
The room was small but bigger than the standard room at other hotels. It actually had an area for watching tv.
The down side was no door on the bathroom. What is the big deal??? Well there are numerous windows in the bathroom and without a door no way to get the room dark for sleeping. With that said, during the day the room was a bit darker than I like.

Stayed in a Vista room the past 2-3 visits and really like it mostly due to the size of the bathroom. Two entries into the bathroom. Two sets of sinks. Separate show and tube with plenty of floor space.

That is the one reason that we disliked that room. Lots of bright lights on the strip. A long walk from the TV area to the head. We had a king bed with enough room for a roll away.

Sounds like a mixed bag. I'm not particularly picky about the room too much but in recent trips we've stayed at Mirage and Aria. I like the PHo casino and wanted some sort of a view of the fountains. It never fails, we always get a crappy view - every time. I've seen every rooftop on the strip I think.

Meh.... is how I describe them. it's fine, pretty clean, the Hollywood Hip rooms are very small. I'm never quite as happy at PH or Paris as I am at MGM properties. But if it's a good deal, it's totally fine. Nothing wrong with it.

My last trip we had a "mountain room" they just gave us... it was a lot larger it was at the end of the hall, and had 2 sinks, made it more comfortable. I think the resort rooms are similar in size.

I would call, and say, I want a view. How can I guarantee one? It might not be a whole lot more to do that.

Having stayed at PH many times, it's a bit of a crap shoot on the Hollywood Hip rooms. I think the last one they foisted on me was a handicapped room - with peeling wallpaper by the tub and no separate shower. The bed looked quite "frumpy" as well. It was also small and dark. I seem to recall there was a problem with the window shade too... not being able to open it or something.

On the same trip, my female friend paying the SAME rate scored a beautiful, bright room just a few feet from mine on one of the wings that project out from the front of the hotel.

On another trip, they gave me room 1002(?). I got to the 10th floor and started walking until I finally came to the end of the hallway and a pair of double doors. I thought, "this is my lucky day!" Upon opening the doors I discovered myself in a small entryway, with my dark, tiny mother-in-law room to the left and the palatial other room directly ahead. Puh!

I really like PH and plan to stay there again in a few weeks, but I've noticed a steady decline in the condition of the hallways. Not as bad as the Luxor pyramid hallways, but much dirtier than they once were. You would think they could get a carpet cleaner in once or twice a year.

This being said, if you find you get a dumpy room, they'll probably change it if you ask.

I stayed there once in a Strip suite. It was very run down, from the peeling wallpaper and cigarette butts in the hallways to the bargain basement beds and pillows to the banged up furniture. Super dark room. Never again--and this after staying in a room with a huge tub and full frontal view of the fountains.

If you are used to a good MGM prop, CP, or better--don't bother.

I am surprised they give these rooms out. Has to be the last of the lot. They are the connecting rooms to the Panoramic and Boulevard suites. If you max out your comps on the suite, the connecting room is still only $25.
