As a veteran of several hundred trips over many, many years, I still get excited just before every trip. Hope I never outgrow this feeling. . .

Good Luck Don! I have always wonder when I book each trip if this will be the one where the magic fades, so far not yet! Always just as excited as in the past!

Same here, my first trip was in 1992 and I've been there every year since. Still get excited about going.

I think the first time as an adult was 1965 ish. Started going regularly in the late 60s. Drove there 7 weekends in a row once.

Good Luck and have fun! Vegas will always be your special place.

I've found the magic of Vegas at a relatively old age. I was 48 when I finally found my way there. Since then the magic and excitement has not gone down. I will not be able to have several hundred trips like you have but I intend to go as much as I can before it's time for me to check-out of this world....:beer::thumbsup::thumbsup:

That's awesome, wish I could experience Vegas in the 60's. How was it and which decade was your favorite?

Just to inject a somewhat contrary view; for me, I find Vegas getting a bit old and less exciting! Then again, so is sex, eating, and just about everything else! I don't have a problem with that. In fact, developing a "mature familiarity" might even be a good thing. I know exactly what to expect nearly everywhere I go. I don't even have to think where to find the nearest men's room, cashier cage, bars, etc. That doesn't diminish my desire to go there … it's just way different than the first dozen trips.

    Have a winning trip.

I agree about the excitement every trip. Vegas trip morning is like Christmas morning x10.

I go 1x a year. I wonder if I went 3x or 4x a year whether there would be less excitement.

Anything in this world can lose excitement.

One year I will splurge and go 4x just to find out if it less exciting. A test of my LV fandom.

This is one of the reasons we only go once a year! That and getting off work I guess! I see all these folks on here that go 5-6-10 times a year! I would never do that to Vegas, I would be heartbroken if I ever got sick of going there, or even at the very least, wasn't as excited as I am each and every year we go!

Don, age is just a number, attitude and state of mind is more important. Hope you never lose the thrill, best of luck.

I started going once a year, starting in 2001, to attend a convention. My wife "Had no desire to go to Las Vegas". In 2005 the convention moved to San Antonio, to which she accompanied me. She thoroughly enjoyed, just us getting away for a few days and said "I think I will go to Vegas with you next year." She fell in love with the place on that first trip in 2006 and has accompanied me every year since. We leave next Sunday for 5 days at Monte Carlo. I think she may very well explode before we board our plane next week. This one should be even more enjoyable, since the convention moved again and we will just be left to our own devices...can't wait :woohoo:

I will admit when we leave Vegas we are happy to go.
Even if we were given free airline tickets to ago again two weeks later after getting home we probably wouldn't go.
Scheduling work, dogs, gambling budget and other stuff makes it tough to go frequently which is why 2 times a year works great.
By the time each trip comes around we are definitely ready.

We may even try to get to 3 trips a year and probably 4 max. Not sure we will even make it into the hundreds but we do enjoy all our trips.

For me the excitement comes from knowing I will have a balance of familiar sites, food, games, etc. along with new hotels, casino's, clubs, lounges, restaurants, and places.

I really do love how Vegas is ever changing - If it stayed the same I would certainly lose the excitement.

Think about somewhere you go outside of Vegas consistently (What, people go other places than Vegas?!) and it is not the same excitement.

We go to Nashville once/year and although it's a great place, we look forward to it, and it's always fun, it doesn't have the same excitement because we know it's going to be the same bars, same restaurants, same everything. It's not like Vegas where 15-25 new "things" popped up since the trip 4-6 months ago!
