How accurate is this form of house edge?

Hands per Hour, House Edge for Comp Purposes
The following table shows the average hands per hour and the house edge for comp purposes various games. The house edge figures are higher than those above, because the above figures assume optimal strategy, and those below reflect player errors and average type of bet made. This table was given to me anonymously by an executive with a major Strip casino and is used for rating players.

I thought pai gow poker has much lower house edge.

 

seems reasonably accurate.

 

If you never bank in pai gow poker and mimic the house way, the house edge is 2.72%. Banking every other hand using the house way is about 1.5%. Caribbean stud is way, way off on that list.

 

I think the hands per hour are mostly reasonable, but some of the edge figures are suspect. Pia Gow Poker is at least 2.54%, can't be lower than that. (5% comission on wins and the dealer wins ties.) And only 10 spins per hour at the Big-6 wheel?

The poster should have made that acknowledgement. The Wizard posts it as a table he received from a casino executive for comp purposes, not numbers the Wizard came up with himself.

The huge difference in Caribbean Stud might just be a typo or some strange combination of how that casino treats the average bet and the number of times a player raises.

And 10 spins per hour at Big Six sounds way too low.

 

And the last piece is exactly how they calculate the average bet. At a game like Mississippi Stud, they might just count your Ante, or some multiple of that. It really is a black box when you try to figure out how they rate the games. The pit bosses NEVER know the whole calculation, (house edge, hands per hour). They just know how they are instructed to record the average bets.

 

Well, I had figured out based on personal data that they were rating blackjack at 100 hands/hr at 0.50% or 50 hands an hour at 1.0%...turns out it is 70/0.75 which coincides almost exactly with what I calculated. They figure you are going to lose 1/2 of an average bet per hour. Very favorable when you are playing a game correctly with a 0.26% HA, not so much if you are making a ton of mistakes and superstitious plays and fading the house 2% or so.
