Does anybody know if you earn TC and RC for free play?

In the past, you did. I have noticed in the past few months, they finally changed the programing, so that play does not allow you to double dip. Makes sense, since no money is at risk.

I know that they do not give tier credits on free play in Atlantic City. When I was in Las Vegas early last year they still gave tier points. Are you saying that they definitely stopped in Vegas. I play mostly VP, I was also wondering if they stopped in LV. I sure wouldn't be surprised.

I understand why they wouldn't give TC for free play, but it's a little disappointing. I'm working on renewing my Platinum status. I mostly play at TR resorts in AC, because that's so close to home, but I love getting out to Vegas whenever possible because the casinos are nicer, the shows are better, and there's a lot more to see and do out there.

How much freeplay are we talking about here?

$100 Freeplay would be 20 TCs. Not a whole lot.

That is a good point....It is only free play on the first pass through the machine. I also have mixed experiences with this. It seems to me that when you get the free play codes in AC you don't accumulate points. But, I believe I have gotten points when using the vouchers you get at the cage.

I also think that I haven't gotten points on my last couple trips, so I guess they have tightened up on the issue. Kind of makes sense......since it is free play and not cash.

So does that mean you accumulate TCs on winnings from the Freeplay that you continue to play? If so, that would make me feel a lot better.

It is ONLY the freeplay that does not count. Winnings are YOUR money. So, with a $100 freeplay on a $5 machine, you will get 20 spins or $100 from the freeplay. After that you are spending your money. Even if you win $50 half way through, it continues to deduct from the FREEPLAY balance until it is done. Then it uses your money.

I was at Caesars a few weeks ago, and while using the slot free play, it was accumulating points and tier credits on the card.

Of course, as mentioned before, it's just a small insignificant amount, but you do get it.

You will know when your free play runs out and you are using your winnings by watching the TC countdown on the machine. it will not tick off any countdown until you are using your money. I used to count the number of pulls that would be free, 5 or 10 or 20 hands to know when I could pull the money out of the machine (you cannot cash the free play), but then my wife said just look at the countdown. when it starts you know your into your money. Alot easier than keeping count, especially if I'm not in a good counting frame of mind. [IMG]

by the way, in a few casinos, you can take the freeplay to multiple machines.

Say you have a $100 coupon or download and only play $20. When you cash out, it will first cash out any winnings. You hit cashout again, and it gives you a TITO that can only be used in a machine. It can not be cashed.

This currently works in Tunica and Cherokee for sure.

I actually have the freeplay on my online caesarscasino.com account. Here in NJ, we legalized online gambling, so we can play online games for real money. It's actually kind of nice, because I can have some fun at home, save up some comps, and then use them when I go to Atlantic City or Las Vegas on vacation.
