I have been to Vegas in June July August several times. Thinking about trying out the beginning of May this year. What are the temps....and how are the crowds? I like the crowds...love to people watch. I live in Wisconsin but don't want to be cold. I just don't think Vegas would be the same if I was cold there.

    May is a great time

Unless you really want to fry, early May is awesome. You can expect mid 80’s most days, but even a chilly day will likely still be in the upper 70’s, great for walking around or people watching by the pool. It’s not the busiest time of year but the moderate crowds should provide a nice balance of personal space if you want it, or less if you’re so inclined.

This is sounding good to me! And the pools should be open yes?

The vast majority will be, apparently there are still a few of the more adult-oriented pools that wait until Memorial Day. The trend seems to be for pools to open earlier each year – I was at MGM a couple of years ago in early April and they were all open, and Mandalay Bay is predicting their beach will be open in mid-March this year. Kind of makes sense – 70 degrees may be freezing by Vegas standards but for poor saps like us who are currently buried in snow, that sounds like paradise.

70 + degrees is a godsend to us in the midwest in May. Thanks for the info Mark.

We went last May 10-15. High temps ranged from 89-100. Crowds not bad.

I agree, May and October are perfect weather. I was there in late October last year and it was 81 every day. I'll be there in early May this year and the average high is 85 during those 6 days. Perfect.

I went for the last week of May last year(previous visits were Oct and Feb) so it was the hottest I had experienced, it was mid to late 90's all week and hit 100 on the day I was coming home.
