About a week after they opened we stopped, signed up for their player's club and played for maybe 20 minutes. We each received the same mailer today, 2 nights free, $10 dining & freeplay and the biggie--a free deck of cards, while supplies last.:evillaugh

I was going to double book and check out a room next month. Then I read the fine print. Valid Jan 1-31.

No harm is calling someone and asking if they'll honor the offer in February.

    Thanks for the info, Joe.

I will be downtown at MSS & 4Qs in late January.

I will definitely get a player's card from DT Grand & hope for a later room offer!

    still looking for mine

We signed up and played there in November. 4 days ago my 22 year old daughter got this offer but I'm still looking for mine. She lost maybe $40 there and I lost about $300.

    Still looking...:confused2:

I received a similar offer. My next trip is in May, I hope to get a mailer for then. Personally, I felt really comfortable there and would really like to go back.

But I don't pay for hotel rooms... :nono:

Actually a number of casinos will send you those kinds of offers after you sign up for their player's card. They do that to try to attract you to the place, hopefully gambling and spending money there. But then after seeing how much you play at that casino the offers will either continue or dry up because you didn't put in enough play there.

Not sure if I will sign up for the player's card. I remember when I signed up for a player's card at the LVC they also gave me a free LVC t shirt too.

I will probably stick my head in to see the DG but I doubt I would play there.

My policy is to never sign up for a players card at a new place unless I know I am going to be playing there heavily. I would hate to see them come out with a loss rebate promo at some point for new players, when I already signed up and got a measly deck of cards.

I did call to see if they would let me use the Jan offer on 2/6 & 7. The nice lady I talked to said a manager would call me. 4 days ago, no call. I'm not calling again, I just wanted to book to see a room, not stay & play.

Too bad you weren't going in April mjames, this offer would have worked for you.

"And, speaking of gamblers, there's a new plan in play to get you here. Or, back here. The Grand has begun honoring comp or discount offers from competing Vegas hotels. Yes, there is an asterisk here. The offer has to be specifically for you and can't be generic. For example, a hotel will need to offer you two free or discounted nights (or whatever the case may be). Show it to the Grand and they'll match it. But, if you have a mass mailing in hand that offers rates from $5 (or whatever) to all that received it, that would not qualify for this promotion. This offer is available through April. To redeem it, you must join or be a member of MY Points and you must present the offer from the competing resort upon check-in."

My Lady Friend got the same 2-night offer this week, and I never got it, so I called them today. They said I am eligible (yay!), so I booked 2 nights to replace the ones I had booked at Flamingo. It includes weekends, but I forgot to ask about the dining credit and if the resort fee is free also.

I am stuck at CC for the weekend, as I used MyVegas awards, but I replaced my Sun & Mon FlamingO nights with the Grand. Since I was paying resort fee there anyways, even if the Grand charges me one it won't be a big deal.

I am so happy about this as now I can drink at the meet-up at CBC on Sunday the 19th without having to worry about driving afterwards.
