Good for Cutler... I've never thought he was the "problem" in Chicago, but he also has yet to be proven the "answer". Maybe this commitment by the Bears goes a long ways mentally to adding some stability.

The Chicago Cubs will win their third World Series before the Chicago Bears win their second Super Bowl (it may take another century).

Good Luck, Good Cheer may you lose one hundred years.

In fairness - I've never thought much of Cutler.

With so many good arms at the college level getting ready to make their way into the NFL I'm not sure 7 years 50 mill was a solid investment.

If I am an NFL team I am looking hard at that kid from UCF that played last night - he was a horse.

Even the Baylor kid Brice Petty is a stud - just was not his night.

Like I said - lots of big arms coming up the next couple of years.

    Very happy he is back.
I may be mistaken but I don't think Cutler was on the field during the Packers last scoring drive

Cutler took less money to stay in Chicago, he could of had a lot more if he went into free agency. The Bears have a championship caliber offense, they need some semblance of a defense.

That is Romo money. Being from Texas and plagued with an owner who is a native of Arkansas and a general manager from the same state with yet a president of the corporation from the same state again, it is satisfying to me that it is not just our local team that seems to feel the need to spend so recklessly.

Perhaps misery really does love company. I certainly know we are miserable.......come on in.

I don't have a problem with the Bears signing Culter, but seven years? Why?
Culter does not rate a deal like that. I think three years would have been more in line with what he has done, and that is being generous.

I will be surprised if he is actually around for all of those seven years.

The largest fans of Cutler are Bears fans... I mean what choice do they have now.

I have no problem with re-signing Cutler ... HOWEVER ... I hope they have another spare $50 million set aside for some defensive players. :poke:

I am sure that a 3 year deal would have been preferable for the Bears. However, no "franchise" QB is signing a three year deal. Look at all the big contracts lately: Eli Manning, Romo, Stafford, Aaron Rodgers. They are all long contracts at a steep price. Zero chance in the world that the Bears could have signed him to a 3 year deal (unless they were paying $25 million per year)

Very true. They have all the pieces in place on offense, their D is the problem.

I'm not a big Cutler fan but here's a tip of the hat to him for re-signing with the Bears and, like chitownjohn says, leaving potential money on the table.

If the Bears can get their defense figured out they'll be a force to be reckoned with.

    Perfect for the Bears

Jay Cutler is a tough SOB who patiently waited for Bears to provide him with talent on the offense; if they can improve the defense this could be a very potent team. Look out Packers, payback is coming.

To bad Chicago won't win a single playoff game until at least 2021.

    I'm sorry to see this.

I was a big Cutler defender until this season. I had to face facts. Cutler is a good QB but will never be a great QB. He keeps making the same mistakes. He's stopped growing.

Plus there is just something about the guy that rubs me the wrong way.

This signing reinforces the fact that the Bears will be Superbowl contenders for years to come.

I think its a great contract for the Bears. Cutler was making over $14 mil per year (ave) in his last deal. This contract is for 3 years, $50 mil guaranteed with club options for every year for years 4-7. So under his new deal, he is making $16.67 mil which isn't a giant raise from his previous deal. Plus the Bears can get out after 3 years. A great deal for the Bears IMO.
