I posted about this in my recent TR. Has anyone else noticed that some of the newest slot machines coming out, which should be really popular, are totally failing when it comes to their soundtracks? I mean, part of the fun of playing some of these games is the expectation of a great soundtrack while you're playing.

Lord of the Rings and Ghostbusters are great examples of good soundtracks. They're recognizable and upbeat or exciting. Recently, we tried Spiderman, Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Footloose. All of these, one might expect to have fantastic soundtracks, but they are truly awful. They aren't at all existing or even very reminiscent of the themes they should support. Spiderman plain puts me to sleep, until you get a bonus, at least.

Sound is very important i think. Of the "modern" machines, one that was particularly bad to me was "cheers". Constantly softly hearing doo..doo...doo doo..doo doo...doo is a snooze fest. I never saw any bonus either, so I dunno what other sounds it makes.

That's an interesting one, since they do play basically the theme song. It just happens that the theme is rather a snooze fest. Not sure what they could play to make that game more exciting. I agree with you. We tried it and left quickly and haven't been back because it just sucked down all our money with no features or bonuses.

I hated the new Willy Wonka game but played it anyway because of the soundtrack.
I agree the Footloose soundtrack was lacking. Probably couldn't secure all the music rights.

I know what you mean with the "doo...doo...doo" stuff but I really like the Cheers sounds. Cliff Claven narrates your play and spouts off some funny comments, and then the nostalgia of hearing the theme song while watching credits rack up during bonus rounds is really fun.

My Wife and I got hooked on the Village People Jackpot Party slot machine after she hit for 600 dollars on the bonus.

Really fun when you hit the bonus. Soundtrack and songs are great!

But that's if you hit the bonus round. Otherwise it just plain sucks......:Þ

I LOVE the Godfather slot and I know a good part of it is the music. Mama's bonus song gets me dancing in my seat :)

I agree that some of the newer ones just missed the mark musically.

I love the Irish drinking music in the bonus round of Bier Haus (when drinking I'm almost singing along :drunk: )

Overall, I like the sounds that a WMS penny slot makes when you hit big (i.e. Terrrrrific! *techno music beats begin**)

I always thought the Hangover slot had a good soundtrack as well.

    Go Go Go

The soundtrack on Dean Martins wild party has probably cost me a decent used car by now. I never win on that game (except the first time I played it of course) yet a throw some money at it almost every visit.

Don't give me another reason to play that vacuum! I am probably down 100 bets on that game with never hitting a bonus round. :grrr: It is still is probably one of my favorite WMS games, mainly because...well...it's obvious.

Have you seen the Dolly Parton slot machine?
You have about 6 songs from which to choose.
My wife had the volume up and was grooving to the beat.
Me too on my machine. Good thing no one took a video.

Liked the sound track=New Michale Jackson Slot

Last trip to MB, in September, really enjoyed the new Michael Jackson,
Video Slot, hit the Beat it bonus for Almost $600.
At the end, you get a Golden Michael Jackson Icon + Big win, raining
    golden coins.

    Was fun :peace:
