I am thinking about a 4 to 5 day get away in the spring on a budget and looking at GG. I have seen pics and videos of the small rooms and can get over that but is there only valet parking at this hotel cause I do alot of ripping and running and would hate to have to go to valet everytime and wait for my car. There hotel has a room from Thur-Mon for $140 but goes up to $248.60 after taxes and resort fees. Does anyone know about there parking situation?

Unless you're in a suite, I would try one of the other properties (Plaza, MSS, Fremont, Four Queens, 'theD'). You can self-park at any of 'em, and your room charges, (assuming you get a players card & ask) will be more like $160-$200 (at the Boyd properties anyway).
I've also found that getting room charges comped after-the-booking is pretty easy at 4-Queens if you give them a decent amount of play.
    Good luck!

    Just wanted to correct you......

The fremont is also valet only. They do not allow you to drive down into their parking lot, probably because they stack cars like sardines in them.

You can self park at the other boyd properties like MSS and the Cal. For guests at the Cal you need to get a parking pass at the front desk. Parking is free for hotel guests but you need the pass otherwise you have to validate or pay. Parking is free at the MSS most of the time (except for big events/functions).

The Four Queens also gives you a pass (placard) to put in your car window for free self-parking ... IF you are a hotel guest there.

If it helps, the wait for the valet at the GG is super short, never waited more than 2-3 minutes to get my car....

I had just about completed the form for booking a room there for March and right at the end of the form I saw something like $20 per night for a Resort Fee. I didn't go through with the reservation and booked the 4 Queens instead. I wanted to try out the Golden Gate but wasn't willing to pay that kind of Resort Fee.
