The idea for this thread came to me in the shower this morning, as I was soaping up with a bar of Piazza soap from Venetian. A quick check of the cabinet after I got out revealed that we haven't bought bath soap in years. same-same for shampoo, conditioner. The wife loves the stuff from Wynncore (Bambu). I like V/P's stuff. The sewing kits from Palazzo are regular items in my kit at speech tournaments (the kids can rip anything you can imagine!). Shower caps, make-up tools, those nice slippers.....

Anybody else stock the bathroom cabinet with hotel stuff to the point you never have to shop for it? Or is it just us?

What you said. But, I don't have enough of it to never have to shop for it. I don't bother with hotel lotions/creams, shampoo/conditioner anymore though, my skin is too fussy. But, a stash of bar soap comes in handy when we run out. And it's a nice pick me up to use something from Vegas when I'm feeling low. Hotel oatmeal soap is awesome. If I could find comparable hotel oatmeal soap I could die a happy woman.

I take the Wynn slippers as the dog likes to chew them.

Also, the toothbrush/toothpaste can be useful for short trips.

I have pens from every casino I go to. In college I actually had someone ask me how often I gambled because they noticed I only used pens from casinos.

The Wynn pens are really nice, I also like the way the pens from my local casino, Treasure Island in Minnesota, write so I have a ton of them.

Pens and notepads for sure, how could I forget those?

I would grab slippers if they were offered. I bring a pair of slippers when visiting people at their homes.

I always ask for more toiletries then bring them home with me. Whatever I don't use, I donate it to a local homeless shelter.

Usually grab a few pens for my backpack and briefcase and a few slippers for the long plane rides.

Tempted to start a pen collection... really like skyLOFTs metal pens :p

Don't even get me started on pens and pads. Those are the most useful things around. ll of our grocery lists are done on Wynn pads, and I keep a stash of Wynncore pens on hand in my classroom for the kids to borrow.

A few trips back we stayed at the Luxor - comped.

Wife hoarded all the pyramid shaped soap, I like to have pens from each hotel we stay at - usually score them from the sportsbook or room.

Other than that - we are good

Would the Vegas magazines in the rooms count? I take them home every trip and peruse through them when I get the Vegas blues.

We take the lotions and shampoo that we don't use and bring them back to use on our return trips. Saves packing the bulky shampoos, etc.

Keep forgetting to take those pens.....

If they have nice soap, I'll take some. We prefer our own shampoo/conditioner and the liquid body soap is too small for home use.
We sometimes get extra coffee and carry it in case we want to use it for another trip.

Pens- definitely pens. To the level that if, after 15 minutes in a room I need a pen I cannot find one because I have already safely "filed" it away in my case to take home:rolleyes2: I have also been known at the cage of a hotel I am not staying at ask if I can steal their pen for my collection (after checking they got the usual stash of them nearby) they usually pass it over :)

I am not allowed to bring these amenities home any more. My wife complains we already have too much of them.

I like the pens also. Always bring some home from Paris, Ballys, Flamingo, etc.

The small hand lotions are great - my husband keeps one right next to his chair as the size is so handy. If I do take the other items with me such as conditioner or soap, I put those in the USO bin at McCarran airport that is just before you go thru security. If I forget & they are in the luggage, then they go to a local women's abuse shelter.

Pens. The V/P are small enough to fit in my wallet.

The nice soaps and hand lotions come home and bring back good Vegas thoughts until it is time to return and replenish them.

Since my Vegas visits are primarily for business, I often am forced to wait till the final evening to "let it hang out". That often means going to the airport the following day sweating out the booze from the previous evening/morning (especially in summer... ughhhh). My ritual is to swipe one-(1) clean washcloth after each visit to stuff in my laptop bag. It comes in pretty handy in the skycap line at 115 degrees!!! The best of my "collection" came from the Wynn/Encore and Palazzo. The worst is probably from Arizona Charlie's (Decatur). It was like a thin Handywipe (if you remember those). This was back in the early 2000's when my per-diem was much, much less than today.
