I know this place gets a beat down by most folks here on the board. However, I've seen this place really start to shine. To the point, I think its time to point out why everyone may want to check it out again!

    1. The casino renovations are nearly done, and this place looks great. I really feel like someone was thinking when they placed everything. It just seems to really fit.

    2. Traffic flow is currently through the casino as Las Vegas Blvd is closed. However, everntually they will open up the front, but I see traffic still flowing throught the casino. Which is brilliant. The poker room and sports book are right along the traffic flow. This placement was brilliant.

    3. Drink service was the best here of ANY casino I visited. It was quick and constant. I hope more of the CET properties adopt the Ipad order and waitress delivery method. Its awesome.

    4. The rooms aren't horrid. IMO. I think some of that is due to the choice of what tower I stay in. But even a small spruce up is going to bring new life to them. And honestly, they aren't trying to compete with the upper end rooms. They are still a bargain property, and their rooms will still reflect that.

    5. O'Sheas. The sign was up, so they are super close to opening. Can't wait for this place to be back up and running.

    6. The Linq - now that we can see some of how this is going to look, The Quad is going to be in the thick of everything. It will be the lowest priced rooms in the Linq area. And I think this is going to be a draw.

    7. The Wheel. I like many of you was skeptical. But now that its up with the pods on, I will admit that I'm excited. Just more reason to stay next door.

    8. The staff - I met some of the nicest dealers/housekeepers/front desk people this trip. Really genuinely. And I saw a lot of pride in the casino and maintenance of it. I think that will flow through to the rooms once they are renovated.

Just a few reasons I know I'll be back to the Quad time and again. I think they did things right here!

How are the elevators? They used to be a slow nightmare.

Good to hear! Annual guys trip is in one month and we always stay at the IP/Quad.

We are all 30-40 y/o guys with wives, kids, mortgages, ect so any extra money we can free up for food, booze, and gambling goes a long way!

We were there in March so it will be fun to see the progress , since last visit.
    Sounds like alot has changed!

Cheap, great location, bed and bathroom and balcony to smoke. If you are seeking these things it is a great property, I agree.

I wouldnt take the wife there until the rooms are renovated, because we actually use the room when we vacation togethor . For passing out and washing up its perfect!

OP- How were the BJ and craps table limits ?

It's good to hear that things are improving so much.

I mentioned in another thread before that my parents stayed there in May/June and there was a lot of reno still going on. Based on what I saw at that time it wouldn't have been my personal pick, if cost wasn't an issue. But I figured that when considering it's location and convenience to the area that my wife calls "the hub" of the strip, the price makes it unbeatable. But for my parents, they so enjoyed staying there that even though they've been getting comped offers from other TR hotels, including PH & CP, they said when they go back this spring they are going to stay at The Quad (where they also have comped offers)

I just got back from staying at the Quad. I agree, the casino looks great. So much better than before. Some will still complain, no matter what.

As far as the rooms go, I never had a problem with the rooms. Now that the rooms are starting to be re-done, I have mixed fillings. They could have left the rooms like they were, but now room rates are going up and I may have to find a new place to stay. I was never one of those people who stayed at the Quad once or twice and complained about the rooms needing to be re-done. I have now stayed at the Quad twenty five times with no problems with the place.

With the increase in room rates, they may have priced me out of the market. I think people should be careful what they wish for. Sometimes change comes with a price.

By the way, I have never had a problem with the elevators.

i think we all got our moneys worths

Ain't that the truth… I think my first trip to vegas I played $100 total, and was getting free offers for IP. Cheap rooms and dealertainers, I will always love IP.

This actually disappoints me. I regularly read the IP/Quad reviews on Trip Advisor just to get a good laugh. Some of them are absolutely hysterical.

I was there in October seeing Jeff Civilico and I agree that the casino looks really good.

I look forward to checking it out. I agree about the cocktail service with iPads. Rio used it last time I was there and it was great. Super fast. I assume all CET properties will use this system if they aren't already.

The IP was horrible in every way (except that they had the HOTTEST cocktail waitresses in town always). I'd love to start including the Quad when considering where to stay in the future.

I agree with Vic. We started out in Vegas at the IP, and watched it go from ok to bad to downright horrible. The reno is what it desperately needed, and with a good job the Quad will be back in the thick of things. Room rates are going to go up no matter what - it's called inflation. But with the direct link to the Linq, Quad will be a decent place to hang out again.

Wow. This is great. Can't wait to see this happen. Would you care to be the first and show the rest of us how it's done?

I was super impressed with Quad on my last trip. Casino was beautiful and bathrooms were spotless, etc. I was asked several times if I wanted a drink - but sinuses weren't cooperating so I didn't - but constant attention!

My only surprise was the lighter color of the casino carpet. I figure it may end up looking shabby soon. I expected something dark with a pattern to help hide things.

Rio has used Ipads for awhile. As for fully electronic drink service, that's standard for slot/video poker players in Tunica, MS and Hammond, IN. It works well as long as they have an adequate staff.

And as long as Quad is willing to give me Dogfish Head 90 minute IPA comped, I will be a regular visitor there.
