    My Trip Report

Went last weekend, Friday to Tuesday. Double booked both at Ballys and Orleans because we had tickets to see Charlie Daniels/Montgomery Gentry and didn't want to head back to Ballys after the show.

Ballys wouldn't give us a room in the jubilee tower as it was closed to low occupancy. We got a Grand Jacuzzi suite in the North tower. We also had a nice room facing northwest over looking the pool (which was used in December by a few) in Orleans.

Ballys had $5 tables everywhere except for roulette. We ate at La Provencal in Paris (our second time) and were treated to a delicious meal. It really is a nice restaurant. Sat morning was breakfast at Silver Sevens, dueces wild breakfast. 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 pancakes for 2.99, waitress service, awesome. Then a stroll around the strip (paris, PH, Cosmo, Bellagio). Cosmo is beautiful. Crystal chandelier and car were a site, as was the entire place, just gorgeous.

Headed over to Orleans mid afternoon for a 9:30 concert. It was late because the Rodeo Finals were being held earlier. I've never seen so many cowboy hats in my life than on fri/sat. The show was awesome, 6th row center.

Sunday found us going downtown mid afternoon with cousins we meet up with in Vegas regularly. We ate at Magnolia's, gamed in El Cortez and Fremont, checked out the new DT Grand (not very impressive), and just enjoyed a nice day. The weather all the days were perfect (low 60s highs) and there were no crowds anywhere we went (love December).

Sunday night we ate at Carmines in the forum shops then my wife an I headed over to the Venetian because it was the only hotel that was really decked out for Christmas. My niece told me (concierge for Cosmo) that they've received alot of complaints about Christmas decoration/celebrations and not 'Holiday'. People have to get over the fact that Christmas is celebrated by most in this country.

At the Venetian we decided to take the Gondola ride (20 trips and never did it before) and it was romantic listening to Hungarian triplets play christmas carols on the violin. They were very very good, and made for a remarkable atmosphere.

Monday found us in the spa at Paris (travelzoo $99 coupons thanks to someone who posted it here on VMB). We had a couples massage with hair and scalp treatments, very relaxing.

We gamed all day, had cocktails and bites at the diamond club, took our comp tickets and went to the top of the Eiffel Tower before gaming the night away, packed, and headed out early the next morning.

I got a new Canon G15 camera. I am very very happy with the quality of pics, especially night time photos.

My 6 card straight flush in Pia Gow. If that Qclubs were a 4 or J of clubs I would have been paid $50,000 instead of $500.

Loved your trip report. It's funny to see pictures of Vegas with people wearing jackets and sweaters. But that would be perfect weather for me.

    Thanks,

Thanks, and these are only a 1/4 the resolution of the originals for uploaded purposes.

The Canon G15 is not a cheap camera, but memories have no price tag. The camera is very fast and very sharp. And it has several levels of HD video, and it's beautiful. All in a point and shoot that also has full manual controls and behaves like a DSLR that you can fit in your pocket.

That is the finest collection of Las Vegas pictures that I have EVER seen ANYWHERE!

The colors are so bright & the pictures are so sharp, that one would think that they were taken by a professional photographer, on a tripod, on the clearest day of the year!

    Fabulous!!

    Thank you for sharing!
