    Hi, Everyone,

A change in plans will have me in Vegas for X-mas this year. I expect this to disrupt my normal dining routine, which usually involves prix fixe lunches, happy hours, Taxi Driver menus, and Chinatown.

Does anyone know of a cheap but good X-mas turkey buffet lunch or dinner? I'm thinking of something comparable to the $12 Thanksgiving Turkey dinner buffet I just had at my local casino.

    Thanks,

    schwaiguy

I would imagine that MSS would have a reasonably priced buffet. Also, any other local's casino should be good.

Actually glad someone brought this up i was curious as to what some people thought the week of the Mon the 23 through that following Wednesday the 1st... Will the usual week days specials (excluding Christmas Day) and happy hours still be in effect?

Anyone know anything particularly that will not be having there usual specials or vice versa having some cool happy hour specials and such..

    Yup, MSS isn't bad..
Last year, we were in Vegas over the holidays, and originally we went to Orleans, and the line was 2 hours!
Went over to MSS, and waited less than 5 minutes to get in...wasn't ridiculously overpriced either...

Everything is pretty much normal on Xmas (definitely the rest of the week), minus some restaurants only have special menus, and some shops are closed.

Actually, many buffets (primarily on the Strip) jack up buffet prices over the holidays. Beware.

Thanks, everyone. After discussion, my wife's looking at cold Big Wong, and I'm looking at day old Metro Pizza and a sub from Rocco's. Also, the day before, Tuesday, is the Vegas Popeye's special. My chicken day, and I tend to overbuy.

I was going to make the same point. Most buffets will have "Holiday Rates" during the week between Christmas and New Years. A couple years ago we went to the Bellagio for breakfast as part of our routine on the first day. The price is usually $15.99, but because of the Holiday week it was 32.99.

Also, you may not be able to purchase the CET 'Buffet of buffets' during certain days this week either.

Actually, we both prefer the takeout. :) The apartment has a fridge and microwave.

We are going to Studio B on Monday afternoon, though.

If you have your own transportation, I'd recommend the buffet at Boulder Station. Their buffet is a step above most other Station casinos. They always do something special for holidays and their buffet price is in line with what you're looking for. Get their players card for the discount.

    What's the Popeye's special for Vegas? Here it's a 2 piece meal for $3.49.

Good idea, though I wouldn't rate it above GVR and RR.

Merry X-mas. Eating Popeyes and Metro Pizza today. Ready to run out to look for Chinese. Yesterday I got 1 large pepperoni and one small metro crust abodanza (meat lovers) for happy hour. Could not have been better.

I tried to go to M Buffet on 12/23, and it was $86 for 2 people. So, we went to oyshin sushi instead. Not as much variety, but definitely no complaints--especially considering you can get steak and fried potato cakes as items.

I don't have my receipt, but I believe the Popeye special is leg & thigh for $1.29. And it's always so fresh it makes the box soggy. The place is pretty ghetto, but I stay right there.
