Quick question about Vdara...how long of a walk is it from the Aria Casino Floor and from the Cosmopolitan? Thinking about staying there in May but not EXACTLY sure where it's located. I know you have to go through Aria, but after that, I'm lost

You don't have to go through Aria. Vdara is its own building.

The walk from Vdara to Aria is only a couple minutes and same for Cosmo. Vdara isn't a large hotel so you can get from your room to the front door in just a couple minutes.

To get to Cosmo, you hang a left out the front door and hang another left at the end of the building, go down some steps, cross a tiny behind the scenes street, walk about 1 minute and take a left into the Cosmo parking area. That's it.

To get to Aria, hang a left at the front door walk along an outside uncovered walkway and you are at Aria. Less than 5 minutes.

    That easy.

    Aria casino floor

Go out the front door of Vdara, outside left across the bridge walkway (see pic) to Aria's door, past the white floor to the opening.

    About 5 minutes.

    Cosmo

    Out of Vdara front door
Hard left to elevator or down steps
You'll end up here on Harmon

Keep straight down Harmon towards the strip and into the opening on the left. Watch for cars coming out...

Once inside opening curl slightly left to get inside Cosmo. The casino floor is towards the strip.

    About 10 minutes.

    It's about 10-15 minutes.

When you get down to Harmon, you will have to cross the street at the light (near the 2nd Cosmo entrance) and walk beside Crystals.

This is the bottom of Vdara on Harmon. You can see the strip in the distance.

The problem in Vegas is that walks always seem closer than they are. In many cases if you walk right down the street, it would be faster but you must take routes to get to your destination.

Here's the routes to take to get to the strip:

    1. Straightest shot to the strip.
The elevator or stairs left of the entrance, walk straight, cross at light, straight up,

    2. To the south.
Walk through Aria, exit the southern most door to Monte Carlo (Aria connects to Monte Carlo inside), walk through the mall, past the food court, Minus 5, and exit past Diablo's.

    OR

Take the catwalk from inside Vdara to Bellagio and tram it to Monte Carlo. Then walk through the mall, etc from above.

    You'll end up here

    3. To the north

Take the catwalk to Bellagio, walk north inside of it and exit out.

    You'll end up here.

You can cross the strip to Ballys or cross Flamingo to Caesars.

Depends on WHERE on the strip you are headed.

a - back door of Vdara into Bellagio, then away you go
b - walk to Cosmo as indicated earlier
c - go across through Aria, then through the back of Monte Carlo and then out on the street need Monte Carlo entrance and close to NYNY.

I never thought of it that way but Vdara actually offers a bit more variety from being a home base than most (sans having a casino in the building).

It's semi-connected to 2 of them and really close to another which are all good properties plus it doesn't take a hour to get from your room to outta the building.

That and you'll have more quiet when you get back and base rooms are better than most. I stayed at Aria (Skysuite) and Vdara (partitioned Deluxe) this year and Vdara wins easily.

I agree that rooms are better than most. And the hotel is quiet.

But, I really never hear any noise in the casino hotels I stay at once I get into our room.

Yeah you'll have to be unlucky for that.

That's all about your neighbors and if you have a room near earshot of a club.
