    when they pick you up especially at airport they get out to load your luggage and they already started the meter,.:grrr::grrr:

    Very true... in Portland yesterday, I had the opposite... the cabbie started the meter well outside of the airport and onto the freeway. Made a big point of pointing it out to me and "what a good deal I'm getting!". I tipped him well to downtown anyways, he was a nice guy pointing out all the sights on the way in.

    Next time, wave to the guy doing the queue for the cab and yell "Sir? Can you get me another cab? This cab's meter must be broken as it's already running."
