Another rainy retirement day with nothing better to think about. Who remembers the free smokes they used to put out on the table games? Also, the match books. I have a pretty nice collection of those as well a few ashtrays from different casinos. My theory is that if they put their logo on it, then it is free advertising and they want you to take it. Now where are those Holiday Inn towels?
I still have a shoe box full of matchbooks from my first trip to Vegas in the 90's from all the different casino's we visited on the strip and downtown. Mark
They still have them at the South Point in their pit cabinet. I agree, if it has a phone number, it is supposed to be taken.
The only ashtray I have is from Harold's Club in Reno. I still feel warm and fuzzy when I use it. Maybe that has more to do with the smoke though. A dealer at Suncoast told me they give one pack of smokes per person, per day if you have enough points. The locals love it and the casino considers it a draw to get them in.
