I frequently see slot/VP players continue to play on the next machine over while waiting for a handpay on another machine. I normally don't do this, but recently I decided to play the next machine while waiting for a hand pay, and I hit another jackpot on the second spin.

So, how many of you continue to play while waiting?

    Awesome hits!

Guilty! I always play the machine next to me if there is one available.

    Nice hits!

For me, it depends on two things: 1) is the machine next to my handpay available and most importantly, 2) does this handpay put me close to even or even ahead. I'm far more likely to play the machine next to it while waiting if this puts me even or ahead. Unfortunately, too many times, I am already chasing losses and I need to keep slowing my play.

Nice one Mike!!! Yeah, I'm guilty of that too. I just move over and play the machine next to me and keep either my left or right hand on the machine that is awaiting the hand pay.

It is quite embarassing hearing that handpay music from the machine, so I like to turn attention away by playing the machine next to it so on lookers won't stop to look.

I find this works as if you are just sitting there like a salami and people here the music and the jackpot indication, they will stop, look and comment. Not that this is bad, but some people can be pretty special. I'll end it there, lol...

I certainly would. I would go nuts just sitting there doing nothing when you already have the adrenalin rush of a win in your veins.

I don't. It's almost like the wait is a little breather/break from the action to just relax.

But, nice going on those hits!

I think that's why I decided to do it, I was already comfortably ahead for the day!

That is sweet! Both dealt too. I just sit back and relax and enjoy the moment when I'm waiting. Hmmm, may have to reconsider after seeing this!

Nope. I drink a lot of beer while playing and usually find this as an opportunity to go find a fire hydrant.

I pretty much have to play the next machine: being Canadian they always seem to take 20-30 minutes to complete the hand pay... just too boring to sit there that long listening to a machine ring

Yeah, well being a southerner, they must think I am from a foreign country because they take 20- 30 minutes to complete my hand pays too!

On my first hand pay ever it was 03:00 AM and wife and I were ready to check out...06:00AM flight to east coast. I had 2 vouchers worth approx $100 each. At The Orleans before walking out the door I put one in a 1$ VP DB and soon after hit RF for $4000..my first ever. While waiting for my check I moved over to next machine and inserted my other voucher. Almost immediately I hit 4 A's @ $2 for $1600..put in $2 so I could hurry up and get rid of money so as not to be late for flight.. Again I said check please. Now I am waiting on 2 checks. OK--I'll just play the machine on the other side. Uh Oh!! No money/voucher to play...damn I'm broke! So I set there for at least 30 minutes (I assume with 2 checks they were doing a double verification) waiting for my checks and concerned we may be late for flight and sure as hell ain't leaving without my money.

It was a very emotional time---got'ta go can't miss flight---wheres my money, its been over 30 minutes---Hot damn I leaving with $5,600. I was like is this all a dream?

It wasn't and I was a very happy camper! That was 15 years ago and I feel like it was yesterday.
