Traveling solo to Vegas for Turkey Day. Right now the only plan is to head to Suncoast on Thursday to watch the NFL games while sitting at the bar playing Bonus Poker Deluxe and drinking Sierra Nevada. Other than that, I was thinking about going to see Jim Gaffigan or MJ ONE. I'm staying downtown.

What do other people have planned?

I'll be there 11/29 - 12/3. I was also contemplating Gaffigan. My only worry was that I saw his most recent stand up special on the plane out to Vegas this summer. And while it was hilarious, I don't know that I want to spend the money and waste valuable gambling and drinking time if it's the same material.

Have you seen him before, jimboguy?

Oh, and my other plans are gambling and drinking...and I'll probably eat too.

@thecarve, you and I share the same concern. Seeing Mr. Universe combined with reading his book, Dad is Fat, is precisely why I haven't bought the ticket yet.

I did see him live once. It was about three years ago in Wendover, Nevada (a casino-town just across the Utah border). He was funny. He even did some Hot Pocket material. But that ticket was comped. I'm not sure if I want to actually pay to see him

I am looking forward to gambling and drinking. Perhaps I'll visit a club named after the world's fastest running land mammal as well.

I'm also going to check out the Downtown Grand, but from what I have read on the board regarding the VP tables it doesn't sound like I'll spend any time gambling there.

Will be there staying at Ballys. Just need some more play to get status next year. Also plan to use up some free play and match play at the D. Time seems so slow waiting for the trip but it just fly by when you're in Vegas.

I'm there solo from 27-30 - Ziggurat suite at NY NY. I am seeing the Australian Bee Gees on Thursday night thanks to myVegas. On Friday I will head over to MGM Grand for the Holiday Gift Shop to pick up a trinket or two. Other then that, I plan on gambling, and then maybe some gambling, and then maybe some more gambling.

We're there during this time as well. Staying at Aria and the only show we have planned is MJ One. I didn't know Gaffigan was performing then so I might book that too. Everything else is comped so I don't know if I can get this comped as well, but good tickets are only around $100 each right now.

My bet would be that this is new material. I know with other big stand up guys like Louis CK and Russell Peters the stuff they do on tour is new and then the special is released after the tour ends. However Louis CK is well-known for writing completely new material each year, so maybe that's not the norm.

Other than that we'll just play things by ear. We still need to figure out Thanksgiving dinner.

Having seen Gaffigan a couple times, I wouldn't be so sure that it'll be new; though I think he's hilarious, he's really only got the one shtick. That being said, I'm out there 29 November to 3 December, and I'm thinking of going Saturday. It'll depend on which (if any) of my friends are out there and what (if anything) they want to do.

I decided to go ahead and buy a Gaffigan ticket for the Friday night show. Second row in Section 101. Not the center section but I'm sure 101 will be fine. The last time I was in the Terry Fator theatre for a show it was Ron White; I sat in the very last row and it was still a fine seat for a stand-up show.

I did find it interesting that using the Mirage Account Manager - which is powered by Ticketmaster - to book the ticket was about $10 cheaper than booking through Ticketmaster directly.

    :haha:

I am SOooo looking forward to participating in this ritual. Sitting at the Boar's Head Bar playing JoB while imbibing Marker Pale Ale sounds ever so blissful.

Do you mean Gaffigan? He's at the Mirage.

Where in the land of 10,000 lakes do you reside, LV2GAMBLE? I grew up in Southeast MN.
