    Hey everyone

Headed to vegas in 2 weeks and am excited to try out the freebet bj that seems to be at many casinos. Saw it on my last trip at mirage but didn't get to try it.

    Anyone tried it? Thoughts?

Seems like a game with a lower than normal house advantage. Make sure you read up on the proper strategy before you play.

I really enjoyed playing this game at Aria back in July. I think it is much better than BJ switch. I also liked that blackjacts are paid out at 3:2 unlike switch. However be aware that many places such as Casino Royale have this game at 6:5.

Played this on my 21st at Casino Royale and it was super fun! It was 6:5 if I remember correctly, but it was a Friday night, it was low stakes and a blast to play and that was what I was looking for: a fun table!

when i was there in september, i believe casino royale was $5 minimum, but had a continuous shuffler and bj was only 6/5.

Mirage paid 3/2 with a $10 minimum bet with continuous shuffler.

Binion's paid 3/2, with a shoe, $5 minimum and even let people bet $3 if they wanted when I was there.

Yes, it's popping up all over the place now. NYNY had a shoe version last time I was there. $10 minimum. Unfortunately, it's one of their last remaining 3-2 BJ games. :rolleyes2:

I watched this game at Binions recently. It's great if you get a lot of split and double down opportunities, but the push on a dealer 22 kept me from playing it.:peace::beer:

I saw this game at the Mirage on my last trip. Since I didn't know the basic strategy for it I didn't play. It does sound interesting. Might have to give it a try on my next trip.

The 22 push can be quite frustrating at times but overall it was a fun way to blow 45 minutes with a full table.

Basically would double and split whenever possible, even when you normally wouldn't under normal rules.

No commission Pai Gow is quite frustrating as well with their Queen high qualifying rule. Had a monster hand but didn't win because dealer didn't qualify. Also no banking, though I didn't mind that since that one time another player didn't understand and thought they won because they beat the dealer and not my hand.

    Looks interesting.

The house edge is higher than standard bj games but not nearly as bad as 6:5. Since it is a new game very few people will play the basic strategy for it correctly, though. I would stay away unless I could find a S17 version.

I wonder if the variance on this game would actually be LOWER than a standard game, since you would never be at risk of, say, splitting 8s, doubling on both of the split hands, and losing 4 times your original bet in one round.

Variance is lower for sure as the push 22 also lowers variance. How much lower it is though I'm not sure. Played this at Mirage in May, I really liked it. It probably helped that the dealer had no 22 in my quick test of the game.
