I know this has been asked before, and I thought I knew the answer, but I keep getting differing experiences.

In the past, I've had resort credits where I just charged to the room and things got taken off. I was able to use at any MGM property. However, I've been hearing recently that you can only use stuff at the Aria property?

Anyone use resort credits on any MLife properties can enlighten me? Thanks!

You can charge pretty much anything from all 9 mlife casinos back to your room, it doesnt have to be just aria.

On my last few trips, we could charge from any casino.

No matter what they tell me, we do try to make sure we have at least the designated amount at the "home" casino for that trip. Just in case.

There have been offers that specifically said they had to be at the designated casino - usually more like regular room deals vs comp offers.

I get resort credits with every stay at an MGM property. Not much, just $100.00 or so. You HAVE to use those in the casino that offered it to you. My last trip a few weeks ago I stayed at Mirage with a $100 resort credit and that can only be used in Mirage and only at their restaurants. You can not go to the gift shop and charge $100.00 to the room. Well, I mean you can, but they wont clear that off with the resort credit!

I asked at check in and at the Mlife desk. They both told me the same thing. Food in house only.

I booked a corporate offer from Mlife for a stay at Aria about a few month ago.

    Offer included $150 "resort credit".

I was under the impression that this would cover any MGM property so we splurged at Stripsteak over at Mandalay Bay and charged it to our room so that the "Resort Credits" would take care of it.

Upon checkout, I had a charge for the entire bill and was told that "Resort Credit" meant credit that can only be used here at the resort.

"Food & Beverage" credit is what can be used at all MGM properties.

    Don't get the two confused.

Ah, this is the best clarification, thanks! Do you know if I can charge show tickets?

The "Resort Credit" offer is always for the hotel where you are staying.

The Resort Credit vs. Food and Beverage Credit sounds like it makes sense... but either way when you check in at your hotel they will tell you that you have a credit, how much the credit is and where you can and can't use it.

You need to look carefully at the terms of the offer you booked.

Sometimes you can only use it for restaurants and room service, sometimes you can use it for buying stuff in the gift shop and sometimes you can't, etc.

Just returned from a Halloween trip at the Bellagio, with $150 F&B. They presented me with a little card with all of the bars and restaurants at the B that the credit applied. All were listed except the high end places Picasso, Prime, Olives, Le Cirque and Circo. Not hard to run up enough $ over 6 days to cover the expense with a few Manhattans or Daiquiri's at Petrossian. Tips do not count towards your total.:beer:

^^^^this...we know food & beverage can be use for anything (except hard items like shopping) for any casinos, resort credits can only be use at that specific casino but can it also be use on everything too? aka food, show, spa

Yes you can use the resort credit on shows! But they wont give you any discounts. At least Mirage didn't. If you wanted 2 tickets to Love and it was say $100 each they would take $200.00 from your resort credit. It doesn't matter if you had a BOGO coupon or anything. If you only had a $100 credit you would still charge all $200 to the room and they will "forgive" $100 worth of that.

Just as a data point, I have an offer from MB for comp nights and $800 in resort credits, but t&c states "food and beverage credits will not be refunded if not used"

So when I called to make my hotel reservation, the agent specifically told me this was a food and beverage credit, so no shows but can be used at all MGM restaurants

I had used an offer for MGM that included "$100 Mlife Resort Credit" in January. I had asked VIP Services before hand about the Credit and where it could be used. The person I had talked too said it could be used at any Mlife casino. Later, when I was at MGM I went to the players club desk to get an extra players card and asked him about the resort credit, he handed me a card that had where you could use it in MGM. But I still charged food back to the room from NYNY and it got taken off in the end. Maybe I got lucky...
