    Hi Guys-

I just got an email offer from TI for a couple of comp nights valid January through April and it makes multiple references to "Resort Fees Optional". The fine print didn't really shed any light on what this means. Are they waived if I book under this offer? If so, why wouldn't they just say that? Or do I need to do something to get the fee waived?

I have looked at this before and it honestly doesnt seem like a bad deal. I have to take my laptop and check work emails, so I need wifi anyways. Throw in the drinks and its not bad at all.

I've stayed at TI under a room comp offer like this one before. The resort fee is made optional for some guests. I've had them ask me if I would like to "take advantage of the resort amenities, for a fee" once, and not ask another time. Neither time did I pay the fees or use the amenities.

Last February we stayed at TI, booked on one of those resort fee optional offers. We too ended up opting for the resort fee because we needed the internet and I seem to recall that their internet fee was $14.95 per day but only for one device? Whereas the resort fee covered up to 5 devices. That was 10 months ago so I could be remembering it wrong.....

I got the same offer yesterday with the opt out wording. My offer does include some of what's included in the resort fee though? 2 for 1 drinks and buffets included with mine and $50 FP with an additional spin to win $10 to $500. I plan on waiving the fee when I call to book.

Side question. I believe I got this offer due to our July trip, we stayed and gave TI most of our play. My girlfriend easily played double my bankroll and yet she didn't get this or any other offer that TI has given me. Could it be because I was the one who booked the room? Any couples here each get an offer?

I find it a little strange because she usually will get a better offer than I will on the Total Rewards program.

See my notes above. For most folks, $25 is a big ripoff.

Ah it's not a huge deal, and rates are lower these days. It's just a different way of displaying rates basically. It's annoying I have to do math, but I'm not usually paying more money. My $39 room, used to be $69, but now it's $39 with a resort fee. Same thing.

I usually end up using the internet, which, yea is usually at least $15 a day anyways. I used it a lot on my last trip (we ended up spending a lot of time in the room). Also a lot of the time cell service is crappy.

Pretty much my thoughts on it! I end up paying for the wifi anyways. I actually enjoy the newspaper and use the gym facilities, so not a huge deal to me.

It also meets the requests of many of us who have been annoyed at the Resort Fee trend because it puts the fee right out there up front and only charges the folks who want the services. I've heard Venetian and Palazzo have the same optional on check in resort fee policy. I wonder about Mirage.
I'm also curious if this is only for certain bookings.
I'll do some calling to determine that, but not this week.
At Venetian and Palazzo it is just a standard procedure to decide on paying or not paying the fee on check in. Seems fair.

The Venetian/Palazzo resort fee is completely option. No special booking or conditions necessary. And not only can you request to turn down the resort fee upon check-in, you also have the option to turn it down upon checking out as long as you have not used any of the amantaties. I hope the V/P sets a new trend out there. I doubt MGM or CET will do this, but we can hope Wynn can shake the boat.

The resort fee is typically optional for comps, just see when you check if you have to pay it. One thing I thought I would note is it includes ticket printing.... but this is actually free for anyone at TI. There are 2 computers near Mystere area that anyone (including non-guests) can print off their airplane ticket confirmations at as there is no login, just click on your airline info.

According to Vegaschatter, you can no longer decline the resort fee at V/P.
