Tried to log onto LVA this am and got a message that the domain name has expired. How can that happen?

Interesting. It seems to be OK now, but technically it expired at midnight last night.

He uses GoDaddy, and they're not supposed to park the domain until after several weeks of non-payment.

Usually the contract for server space and bandwith doesn't exactly line up with the expiration date of the domain name.

Seems like they'd have it on auto-renew, lol.

    I bet he gets comped.

It happens all the time. I'd guess out of the 10,000 or so domain names we are involved with at least 5pc forget to get renewed. Usually a client forgets to tell their marketing agency to carry it on , or vice versa. It's embarrassing, but the domain isn't released for sale until a period of time after so you are not in any danger of someone snatching it.

It loaded fine for me right before I posted, but I can see there's some sort of problem going on now.

    Hey Now!!!!

I have been locked out of my account for over a month. I renewed and asked for a 2014 MRB, but was sent a 2013. I sent it back. Meanwhile, I played email tag with them and finally gave up. I use my wife's account to log on, but I gave up on their forum. All the major posters are here now anyway. This is by far the best forum!! Thanks Sonya!

2013 is the first year I forgo'd the LVA as I renewed last year got the 2012 coupon book but then the login said my membership had expired. Nobody got back to me about my account either so I gave up. I could care less about the sites board anymore. I just like to read the QOD. I doubt I'll be signing up for 2014 either but never say never.

I will never use their site again. I know it wasn't their fault but I got a major virus from their site even after they claimed it was "fixed." That computer is still not fixed.

I called it quits too. Those message boards don't have it anymore.

Sadly, it appears they did not want to put enough money into the board. I have tried it multiple times in the past, and then give up. Too damn slow.

And, this site is just as good.

I do wish their was a section for "Outside Vegas" to share information.

And, maybe put CET and MLIFE into their own section.

But, this is still my number 1 site.

    Thanks Sonya.

And that really is the bottom line. For us, it never was the coupons or the newsletter, though we used some of the former and always read the latter. It was the info and the camaraderie of the boards (and meet ups). Every social group evolves over time, and for many of us LVA's time was now rather long ago.
