I am traveling to Vegas for work next week (Mon-Wed) and then staying in Vegas for the rest of the week for pleasure.

The first two nights will I will be staying at the Hilton Garden Inn that is directly across the street from the Sunset Station. I won't be venturing down to the strip on those two nights since I will be staying at the Aria the rest of the week. However, I will likely walk across the street to the Sunset Station to check it out.

Any recommendations regarding restaurants, unique games/paytables, or other attractions worth checking out at the Sunset Station? I have never been there.

    Thanks!

We spent 5 nights there last summer. I highly recommend you try the Mexican Restaurant inside. They have a really good nacho bar and the food portions are huge. Its a great value.

As far as gambling, I hit my first Royal at the Gaudi bar in the center of the casino. We also enjoyed the live entertainment at the various bars. If you look around there are plenty of deals, $1 margaritas, beer specials, etc.

I did not make it there on this past trip. I set it as a goal, but I just got busy or tired out.
Buffet prices here and at many other Station Casinos are really low just now.

    Mon - Sat 8:00AM - 11:00AM $4.99* with Player's Card
    Lunch Mon - Sat 11:00AM - 4:00PM $7.99*
    Dinner Weekly 4:00PM - 9:00PM $9.99*
    Brunch Sunday 8:00AM - 4:00PM $9.99*

It seems that is the promo, good food prices.

I'm most amazed at Sunday Brunch. Almost everywhere the Brunch is inflated in price.

Looking at the CET strategy to charge whatever the market will bear, Stations might well attract some tourists just getting tired of being stip bled.
When you get back, let us know what you liked.

We like to play the 6/9 DDB Machines (quarter level) that are next to the bar that is just outside the sports book. They always pay $1199 for a Royal Flush. It makes the game a better play option and you still rack up some good points.

I second the endorsement of the Mexican restaurant on site. Awesome salsa bar and the food is really good. The oyster bar toward the back of the casino also serves great food, I had a wonderful bowl of chowder and shrimp cocktail there.

There's also a huge mall right across the street if you want to do some shopping.

The pool at Sunset is nice & relaxing, but it will probably be too cold, or I guess it might even be closed by now....

I third the endorsement for the Mexican Restaurant there. We ate just from the quick service window and the food was just as good as the restaurant. This was oh, probably 5 years ago...If you like good old fashioned greasy spoon type burgers, you can't beat Fatburger (if it's still there). I believe it was open 24hrs a day. The buffet is average, but good prices! I remember we had breakfast there and it was as good as any other place

I had the buffet when I was there last year and it was mediocre at best. For some faulty reason, I decided to give it another shot last May. Except for the salad bar, it was absolutely horrible. There seems to be a big difference in quality among the buffets at the various Station Casinos. Palace Station is okay and Boulder Station is quite good.
