    My Trip Report

I arrange my long trip reports in Snippets so readers can skim the titles and skip through.
It was a great trip. Virtually free.
I thought I had links in the first post, but they did not work. I guess you will have to scroll and skim read to access until I can add in links to all the parts.

    Thanks Sybgal.

    This link should work

Let me know. It is hard to know when things don't work because they all work for me as the author of the blog.
Now that list of Snippets in the intro won't work for anyone but me except to give an introduction as to what is coming and where it might fit as you skim. Sorry. I suppose I should make a link for every topic, but I don't have the time to do that today.

    Good reporting, as ever, Dewey.

I like your 'snippet' style, makes the report into a much more valuable resource.

I've often made light of folks using or considering using public transportation in Las Vegas while on holiday... but Dewey flat out makes it seem cool. Great info for all... LVRTC needs to put him on the payroll... he's the best ambassador they've got!!!

Good read Dewey! Some very valuable information and I loved the poker details.

Thank you for the tip about Four Queens room - South tower with rooms ending in 26. Is this something you can request (at check in)? Is it on every floor? It is part of the 'quieter' tower?

Any suggestions for quiet rooms at the D?

Dewey I am finally trying the Cabana Suites Deluxe room for a week starting Tuesday, which floor and direction should I ask for?
Do all the Deluxe rooms have a refrigerator?
    Thanks

Also, I get where you're coming from about Life is Beautiful seeming like it was just for the young crowd. However, I went on the Sunday (27th Oct) and was surprised at the mix of attendees. It was probably the most friendly and welcoming festival I've ever been to.

Granted, ticket prices were high, but you did get a lot for your money.

Agree with your observation that people who should have known about road closures/diversions, did not know enough to be helpful.

Dewey, we have such different Vegas styles but I think your reports are some of the most engrossing reads.

I just read a portion of this one so far but I wanted to comment I loved that section on Twain. I completely agree with you that if you ban Huck Finn you're not protecting students from racism, you're doing them a big disservice by not being able to discuss it and examine the irony Twain shines on it.

But I think you're skepticism towards what that guy was saying was correct. I've read about this before and there are very few schools who have actually banned Huck Finn. It often gets challenged in local districts, but is almost never actually banned in modern times. The issues just gets a lot of press once in a while when it comes up, which makes it seem like a bigger problem than it really is.

great report dewey, always interesting and informative.

I remember first time wife and I decided to try the wax to fremont from the airport.we felt like we were being a bit too cheap but after experiencing how smooth and fast it was for 2 bucks each I will only cab it there if the flight times make the wax too difficult.

even to get back downtown from the nyny area on the strip that bus is a gem!

Excellent as usual. I so enjoy your writing. You are one of the people I have have followed since joining this board. I grabbed a pizza and a glass or two of wine and enjoyed your report. Thanks for making my day.

    All rooms have a refrigerator.
The difference in prices has to do with the size of the rooms. The smallest is pretty tiny. I actually was given a free upgrade this trip.
I'd just stay off the first floor. I've enjoyed all the rest of my room stays.
However, if you hate green then cancel the reservation. I like the colorful energy of these rooms.

In my reading I have encountered some folks who could hear noises from nearby bar. Perhaps this is true on weekends. I have not had it happen to me, but I always go with the AGC 2 for 1. Actually, that coupon and the $10 freeplay at EC basically pays for the book.
