Hi all...they keep changing the forecast for next week...keeps going colder and colder depending on which site you look at. I am use to warmer temps when I go to Vegas. I have never been when it is "cold" outside. How is the inside casino temps during the colder times? Normal for me is to bring short sleeves with sweaters/cardigans for ac. Forecast now is down to 40s at night and 60s during the day (low 60s at that). Clue, I am a person who is ALWAYS freezing. I find those climate control things they all have now can be blowing cold even when it feels cold out. Any clue what the ideal setting is for the casinos? Do they keep the place set at 70 or so? My entire wardrobe is thrown off now due to having to pack sweaters to wear during the day. Glad I am not planning anything upscale, I haven't bought any new sweaters for this winter yet...:rolleyes2: The month hasn't looked too bad in Vegas...until this upcoming week. Figures.

It's always tough knowing what to pack in the spring and fall – easy in the summer and winter. I'm in the same boat as you; namely, packing for tomorrow. As happens more times than not, the weather forecasts are choppier than most of my BJ sessions! I really don't care if it's in the 80's, 70's, or even 60's, but I sure wish the forecasters would get their act together so I'd have a better idea what to pack. It's strange how the seven weather sites I checked this morning predict such widely different temperatures and anything from sunny to rain for some of the same days. I sure wish I could get paid in the casinos for being so wrong so much of the time!

Anyway, to answer your question, I find casino temperatures MUCH more comfortable when it's cold outside. They keep the places like a meat lockers in the summer, and it's always strange seeing folks wearing sweaters and even leather jackets inside when it's in the triple digits outside. (I tend to mostly frequent local casinos.) In the colder months, it's nice indoors, and you often have a jacket or sweater you can put on or take off. It won't be all that cold next week, but hopefully they won't have the air conditioning running on overdrive!

they usually keep it cold inside casinos it doesnt matter what temperature it is outside. if your a person who gets cold dont expect it to be warm and toasty inside the casino. it is the same as it usually is so normal clothes are fine and so is a light jacket or sweater.

I'm probably the opposite of you, Tammy. I usually like things a bit cooler than most. And I always find the casinos a bit too warm in the colder months. So I'm guessing it would probably feel quite comfortable for you. This is nothing more than a guess, but I'd say most casinos are in the 68-72 range, but there are always a few who crank it up above that (at least that's what it feels like to me).

I don't know if things have changed but when we were there for Xmas-New Year's they had the heat cranked indoors. We had to run the air conditioning to get it down to something reasonable like 70-72F in the room.

My rule now is layers. Nothing heavy. I bought a bunch of cardigans this year, different weights to go over a long sleeve top. Maybe consider something along those lines. There's so many nice draped looking cardigans out this year. If you got one neutral looking one you'd be all set.

Our rule of thumb is that is summer the casino is too cold and in winter, too hot.

I agree with Joe. inside the casino always seem to be freezing during the summer and warmer during the winter. I also agree with lola. If your dressing style allows, layering lighter clothes works good.

Either way, you always have to carry around something in your hand to put on or take off and that's a pain.

The one thing you have to decide beforehand is what to wear on your feet!

At least we thought it was nice outside. If we were overheating inside, we'd go outside to cool off. However, we weren't prepared for how cold it would get overnight. I don't think you can win with packing correctly in the winter. If I was to go back for Xmas-New Year's again, I'd take the hit on paying extra for the luggage and pay close attention to where I'm booking so we can get changed or add/remove a layer as needed.

Well I am all packed. Leaving the sandals at home. I had to overpack...a short sleeve and a sweater for everyday. Plus zipper hoodies of different weights. There's still room in my suitcase I may throw in a few more tops. Going with fall pants. I've been watching the long range for weeks now and they have had everything from 60-80 and inbetween listed for my arrival date. Nice to not pay for luggage on SW ;) Thanks for all the input.

I keep meaning to bring a little thermometer with me just for giggles, but that's one item I always forget to bring. It just occurred to me that I usually wear short pants and short-sleeve shirt in the summer and long pants and heavy sweatshirt or turtleneck in the winter. That might account for something! :D

Last December the temps swung wildly during our stay with it being warm enough to sit at the pool during the day and then at night a light jacket that didnt seem to work when the wind was blowing. Most of the casinos seemed to be comfortable the real pain was dragging a jacket around from casino to casino.
