Heading to Vegas for NFL Championship weekend in January and trying to figure out where to watch the games. I seem to remember The Mirage being pretty nice (big comfy chairs), but that was probably 10 years ago.

Where do you like to watch the games?

In terms of comfort, its hard to beat Aria. Not my favorite sportsbook overall, but definitely the comfiest seating

This is correct. Aria is the most comfortable IMO, and has top-notch TVs and service. Aria is also one of the smallest, so it's sometimes difficult to get a seat.

Mirage just refurbished their sports book and put in new TVs, and it looks great.

As far as TV size and quality is concerned, the new sportsbook in Venetian (not Lagasse's) has an insanely large and crystal clear HD TV.

I've always thought that Bellagio and Mirage are the best books to watch games in.

Aria looked nice, but I wouldn't know. showed up on Saturday last year the weekend after Labor Day and had some time to kill before a tournament and my buddies and I wanted to watch some football. showed my Noir card and was turned away because they were entirely full. that's the thing I like about MGM, their Skyboxes are huge.

Yeah, but I thought the OP was asking about comfort. Aria is #1 as far as comfort goes. But overall experience, I am probably picking Bellagio or Wynn or CP

I had the same happen to me at Aria once as well. The book is smaller so Noir doesn't get you anywhere unless you arrange something in advance with a host. I have done that and it works well

Mirage is really nice after the reno's but drink service was not that great and can be tight with drink tickets depending on who is working the window. CP was just a big open space at one end of the casino and didn't have that intimate feel like majority of the books on the strip...it wouldn't even be in my top 5.

Bellagio was upscale but I found the chairs uncomfortable as they have no lower back support. They should switch to the big padded chairs that most books use. Very cheap with drink tickets! Placed a 300 bet, tipped the writer and only got 2 tickets. When I asked for a couple extra he said that's what I get for my bet amount.

LVH was awesome for drink service and overall a great atmosphere to watch games. ESPN radio is usually giving away prizes pregame. Food options were not that great but all the other positives overshadow.

Wynn looked amazing! Didn't catch a game here but did a walk through. The book is a way better version of Bellagio IMO. Padded leather chairs and leather swivel chairs at the individual monitor stations. Amazing sight lines and I have heard drink service is great. Also bumped into Larry Walker catching the STL/PIT game.

    Hope this helps

I've always favored Mirage sportsbook, and plan to be there next Sat. watching the college games with a big 'ol Carnegie Deli sandwich in front of me. Nice to read they refurbished the place and put in new TV's.

Agree with your description of CP, but that's part of what I like about it. It's big and open and the energy from the casino bleeds over into the book. Especially during big sporting events when they set up extra seats.

When did Bellagio start requiring drink tickets? Last time I was there and got a drink, it was still one of the few place where the waitresses would just come by and ask, whether you had a ticket or not

Time for me to go back to the good old days of CP
CP back in the late 80's had these football shaped helmets that were chairs.
Each chair had a logo of an NFL team
And they had a single or double bar face mask to put your feet on
You just sunk in the chair and did not want to get out of chair

Extra seats? You mean the cheap seats that you would find at a wedding reception hall. Majority of the small tables with individual t.v's were reserved. I hated the fact that you were walking through the casino, take a few more steps and now I'm in the sports book. Plus with all the traffic going on behind you it really takes away from the experience IMO.

Not sure when they started drink tickets at Bellagio but the waitress was very clear no drink ticket you must pay for your drink. Bellagio seemed geared towards sharp players, guys who lay big money and watch the game else where. I will not be in a hurry to return.

My two picks would be Mirage and Wynn for being nicest and comfortable.

Caesars sportsbook was awesome about 25 years ago. These days, not so much.

That casino is now kind of a dump overall, IMO. Frankly, I'm puzzled when folks include CP among elite Vegas properties.

Sometime over the summer I think. They didn't require them for March Madness 2013, but I read about the change several months ago.

Wow thanks for that post Archie..My first trip to LV was Jan/1986 and could not remember where those chairs were. All I remember thinking was this is heaven, the chairs, the brightly-lit boards etc.
Though the NFL was done then,I still sat in the Green Bay chair (My team)and hit a 3 team basketball parlay that night that helped me survive a 3 day Vegas World stay..and that parlay only paid $150-$175 haha..That plus the free-play and free drinks from Mr Stupak the entire time was fantastic!

Nowadays my favorite book is the Rio.Same clerks working there for years, they remember you and drink tickets not that hard to ask for, recieve.Chairs to the right are compfy enough or the back bar VP where I normally play.
