We were there in July and stayed in a standard room. No robes.

I never touch the white robes in hotels for two reasons.
1 I fear that if I take it home my CC will get an outrageous charge on it
2 I fear who had it on last

How are the standard rooms at Monte Carlo? Is it worth just staying next door at NY NY in a Madison Ave Room if the cost is the same or less?

I stayed at M/C last NYE. What I can say is the rooms def are in need of some refreshing! Holes in the lamp shades, dated carpet and my biggest pet peeve is a tub-shower combo like in a regular motel.
I saw a video somewhere on YouTube that had some kids - 21 year old's jumping back and forth on the beds. I think those rooms get a fair share of abuse. I stayed there to be able to cross it off my list.
Nothing against the property but for me it's a Been there Done That sort of thing ya know? Have you looked into their Hotel 32 rates?

I found the MC to be very comfortable for the price. The location was great (internal walkway to Aria, or connection to the tram).

My room was in a good condition. Ok, not new or exciting decor. But clean and spacious. You get a coffee maker with K-cups and two bottles of water per day included in your daily resort fee. Good food court/pool/parking.

I haven't stayed at NYNY so can't compare, but I don't like the casino at all. It is the only property on the Strip I feel really negatively about. Just my feelings though...

    Oh, definitely no robes!

Update: After my one night at Monte Carlo, it was fine. Gave me a high room with a strip view (no robes lol). Rooms were worn, but I only needed a few hours to drop my bags & close my eyes. Location was great! Very quick access to Aria/Bellagio. For the price, I'd say well worth it.

NYNY was not an option, because the rest of my stay is at Bellagio. So, the tram and the ultra cheap price made it a perfect last minute option when we decided to go one night early.

Room quality looks to be about on par with the standard/upgraded room at Harrah's

Have to agree with the been there/done that comment. It's a decent place but it defintely needs some updates/upgrading.

No doubt they have a few places worth checking out. HIT Bar for happy hour and the Pub if you are up for buy one get one domestic drafts. I personally find the place a little sleepy though, but it is a worthy pass through. I think I would rather just stay at NY NY for a similar price and a more fun property.

Monte Carlo is my home casino and has been for the past 4 years....however we do stay in Hotel32 and this floor is very nice. We always stay in a Loft Suite or Penthouse, check it out if you get a chance.

Only problem is that I never see any promotions for Hotel 32. Aside from having a limo ride, an exclusive floor, and some free refreshments where is the value? Their rate calendar shows most of the weekends for upcoming months sold out.

The available weekends plus 2 weekdays for their basic room (which really doesn't seem like anything special), cost similar or in excess of what the other 5 stars would end up costing.

Maybe I am wrong but it seems grossly overpriced even with the added perks. I would definitely like to try it out, but not sure I would pick a facelifted Monte Carlo room when I can do Cosmo/Wynn/or Venetian for the same cost or maybe less.
