Well, due to a pretty attractive offer from Cosmo, I've decided to put off a DT stay once again.:rolleyes2: (The recent protests helped solidify my decision...I am NOT against unions, just unions that resort to thuggery.)

So, now I'm looking for some advice on meal options. I'll probably only be there long enough for one meal - either a late lunch or dinner - as I'll be heading down to Wynn after the first night. (I do have two nights booked so I might hang around long enough to grab lunch on day two...though breakfast in bed watching football is a much more likely scenario.)

So...let's hear (well, read:rolleyes2:) some suggestions. What restaurants have you loved? What restaurants aren't worth my time?

I've been to a few places there and have been mostly pleased. But I don't want to mention which ones as I'd like to hear all recommendations.

I'll eat about anything and price really isn't a huge concern. I will be solo, however. So solo-friendly (bar, view etc.) options would be great...but not absolutely necessary.

    Vielen Dank!

Holsteins. Best restaurant there. Ad it's just burgers and shakes.

Otherwise, Just wait till you get to the Wynn and eat.

I'm not a fan of any of the other restaurants. Not that they are bad,
Just don't entice me. They never really have. And after so many stays,
I don't even think about eating at them.

Jumping ship soon. Purely based on restaurants.
I wish I had the same offers/host at Wynn

It's decent sushi. You've had better.

You have any Wynn comps? Lets trade dining credits. :)

I just want SW this weekend.

I really enjoy Jaleo. But it is open for dinner only, so it would not be a late lunch option. I was not as thrilled by Holsteins as others have been. I was excited about trying the alcoholic milkshakes, but mine did not sit well in my tummy. I had an enjoyable lunch at Comme Ca, but the food wasn't anything super special

I am staying 2 nights at Cosmo next month. The only meals I plan to have there are dinner at Jaleo and breakfast/brunch at the Wicked Spoon buffet

Heard a lot of great things about Holsteins

Can someone go there and just order soda and oignon rings and it is more a complete meal type of place

if anyone is into molecular food
    http://www.ebyjoseandres.com/

is my favorite "new age" place in vegas right now.

cannot be compared to roubuchon/guy savoy/ le cirque or even Italian places

Holsteins has a bar section, which also has seating,

you can easily just get a milk shake/beer/fries or what ever nad hang out

Holsteins almond joy milkshake is awesome. Good hamburgers and a decent selection of brews.

Holsteins! Great burger and shakes, the Steakhouse burger was to die for. They have a great bar/lounge you could eat at.

You could, I'd just sit in the bar section if you aren't gonna order a full meal.

Holsteins is the best burger spot in town. Everything is awesome.

I'm trying to pick a spot for my birthday dinner Saturday night.
Think I'm gonna go to Wynn. I hate having to spend money
There when I can eat free at Cosmo.

Hoping UK makes me a dining credit trade.

e by Jose Andres is an absolute must if you can get a reservation and can spare around 3 hours for your meal. It is a dining experience that is unmatched anywhere in Vegas.

Besides that, everyone else is correct in recommending Holsteins. Get the Rising Sun burger with the Cereal Bowl milkshake.

If you have time for something more formal than a burger and shake, try Scarpetta. It's a great meal with a great view.

Thanks for the responses, gang!

é sounds great. But I don't think I'm up for a three hour meal. And being solo, I'd probably be required to interact with others...something that clashes with my mostly misanthropic disposition.

I've done Holstein's. The burger was very good, though structurally unsound (shouldn't have let the sexy bartender talk me into the sautéed onions) and they had a pretty good beer menu IIRC. I might have to go back just to try a shake if nothing else.

I've also eaten at China Poblano, which I enjoyed quite a bit. It feels more like a lunch place to me though, so I doubt I'll revisit it unless I get a hankering for one of those margaritas. Plus, who the hell puts a portrait of Mao up? If it was Hitler or Stalin, there'd be constant protests:confused:...but I digress.

So, if I'm feeling Italian...D.O.C.G. or Scarpetta?
