I was wanting to try baccarat this trip. The last time I played was about ten years ago at a mini table with a$100 buy in. I remember it lasted all of about ten minutes.

After reading all of the post about bac on here it has me jonesing to give it another try. I understand how to play and pressing bets. What my question to everyone is if you bought in for $1000. What would you start of betting $25, $50, $100. I'm just not sure what exactly what to start betting with that buy in.

Also I'm wondering how aggressive you would press bets. I more interested in going big or going home type of strategy. So I'm guessing a more aggressive press is right for me.

Thanks for your thoughts and help.

Just like any table game, play at a level you are comfortable with. $1000 at a $25 table gives you 40 units, which should be more than enough. I typically buy in for 15 units initially, and often times never have to buy in for more. Other posters can give you better aggressive betting strategies than I ever could, but as a rule of thumb, I always like to start with enough funds for at least 15 wagers

Thanks. The $1000 is fine. If I lose it no big thingy. So if I followed your pattern maybe I should up it to $1500 and start with $100 bet.

Your $1,000 is fine. Keep your max bet 5% of your total bankroll in play. This means the max you should bet is $50. Play between $25 to $50. As for $100 bets don't think you are ready for that yet.

Thanks starting with $50 seems fine. I'm not quite sure how to take "as for $100 bets don't think your ready for that yet". I'm sure you didn't mean it in any negative type of way.
I usually nickel roulette and betting well over $100 a spin is not anything new. I think I am comfortable with the $1000 buy in because baccarat is not my game of choice. I don't want to lose $10000 in one session but $1000 is ok. Won't effect my trip in any way.

I'm more interested in playing for a hour or so and making bank. Or lose it all trying. I'm not as interested in sitting there for four hours and walking away even or only up a little bit. I know how stupid that sounds but its how I feel. Have way to much else I want to do and there are roulette tables waiting.

15 units works for me, but keep in mind, I do not press aggressively. I usually grind out lots of small wins, unless I hit a hot streak. And any and everyone can make money on those!

No way I would mean it in a negative way. Going black action especially in a game like bac takes practice time at home. Lots of practice time. For me it took a whole year before I went black action because the first time I was flat betting black I had tons of mental issues which I didn't know I had until I was laying down real money.

I realize to over come whatever issues I had with flat betting $100 chips I had to simulate being comfortable in handling them. So I went to eBay and purchased some $100 chips and practiced the heck out of them until things became natural like betting $25 chips. As for $500 chips... well I have not reached that point yet. Maybe come back to me around 2017!

with $1000 you are fine betting $50 or more. i played mini bacarrat buying in for $500 and bet $25-$50 on most of my bets and higher if i was winning. i didnt have too much luck but i didnt loose right away either. good luck hitting a pattern!

I usually buy in for 5 to 10 units. but I will rebuy several times if need be. but it makes it feel like a bigger winner when I double or triple my buy-in as opposed to starting with a much higher buy-in and only seeing a 20% winner, etc.

those were your issues. if the dude is used to betting $100/spin on the wheel, he's not going to freak out about a black chip on Bacc.

anyway, the best way to become more comfortable betting bigger chips is doing it. practice at home may help a small bit, but not anywhere near just doing it. when you do it once, you realize that chips are just chips and mean nothing. not until you cash them in are they actually worth anything. I usually play with only $500 chips because of a sort of superstition. the first time I played with $500 chips I won a bunch. so now I like them. and I like the color purple too, which helps. then the next trip I tried $1k chips and lost big. so I stay away from them. the only time that changes is when my luck is running bad, I'll often switch to $1k chips instead. a couple of times that's actually turned my luck around and I won everything back.

I will also play with $5k chips when I'm playing that high. those are fun to build a stack of. but the bottom line is they're just hunks of clay.

lol, I do the same thing. I mean, when I am down, I am going to increase my base unit anyway, but I always tell myself that I just need a chip with a luckier color

We'll if lucky colors is all it takes. I'll pick brown! Just need to get my hands on a couple chocolate chips!

LOL. Superstition with a negative progression to boot. That is great to hear. Keep it up.

$500 or $1k chips have nothing to do with the size of my bets as I rarely bet under $1k anyway. the only thing that I do that's unusual is that I'll bet an entire stack of $500 chips and want to be paid in a stack of the same because I like the color.

That is even better. Vegas needs more whales like you. A lot more. Whatever mentality and thinking you have when you approach the tables or even better the moment you set foot on the ground of Vegas, don't lose that thought process of yours. :nworthy:

I was playing bacc on my phone and thought I would try an idea. I started betting $50 if I won I'd double it to $100 then $200, $400, ect. I would do this until I had won five bets in a row and then start back over at $50 even if I was still winning and start the process over. So the biggest bet I could make was $800. I always started with banker and would switch once I lost so if it was B,B,B,P the next bet would be player. Until it lost then switch to banker.

I know it's only a game on my phone but I've tried this four times now, one time I went broke, and the other three I was at 10,000, 7500, and 4000. So hopefully it's signs of things to come.

Do any of you use a similar betting style? Or is there a name for it?

I like the low house edge in baccarat, but I find it incredibly boring. I also despise those players that take an interminable eternity to turn over their cards. BJ and the better bets at craps are more my style.:peace::beer:

That kills me too. I want immediate gratification :faint: So it makes me seek out rooms with a lot of bac tables so I can usually get one to myself or with only a couple other players

    While we're on the subject...
Who comps the best for solid green action on Bacc?
