Slots Grazie "Rake it in!" Slot Tournament

Is anyone planning to play in this slot tournament that runs from November 17-19th at the Venetian?

I've never done a slot tournament before and even though the top prize is "only" $7,500 cash, I'm thinking of trying it out just to see if slot tournaments are something I'd like to do more of in the future. Free 3-night stay included.

Any feedback on slot tournaments in general is welcome.

most slot tournys are the same.

they put out a bunch of machines of the same kind in a room or certain part of the casino.

when you sign in u get a number. you find that machine and when its your turn u keep pounding the spin button until the time runs out.

who ever got the "lucky" machine and top score wins. usually theres multiple sessions.

Venetian usually runs a tight tourney. Most tourneys are three sessions spread out over two days (2 the first day, 1 the second). You basically mash the spin button for 10 minutes each session, and add your three scores together to determine where you place. Venetian usually runs at least 2 or 3 a month. I just wish they would update the slots they use for the tournaments. It's the same boring blazing 7 machines where you get 1199 points every time you get the 3 blazing 7s, but you can't skip the point counting sequence. Anything over 10000 points a session is what you're looking for. Usually the top winners end up with 34,000-38,000 points, and the last place that pays is usually around 28,000 if I remember correctly.

 

Also slot tourney machines are usually the most generous machines on earth, they are a slot player's dream, returning about 2000% on average.

 

its free and the rooms are free, why not?
if you happen to be there its probably worth the 20-30 minutes it takes.

if you score sucks on the first round, you probably don't need to go to the other rounds.

We spent a good part of the summer at Palazzo playing in various slot tournaments. They are described well above. Free room for three days and I always won at least $100 in free play, which I promptly converted to cash via video poker at an average cashout of 65%. Fun stuff.

 

I'm going!! Why not.. mainly I was down for 3 free nights at the Venetian but I've never done a slot tournament, sounds like I have nothing to lose.

Anyone have an idea of what time these events run? The lady on the phone said they didn't know yet. Also what about the final day? What happens then?

 

when you sign up there are time slots that u can chose. AM group vs PM group or something like that.

ive never had luck in those, so I always got shut out the first round haha.

the first round has time slots that you pick. the round takes like 5 minutes. if you make the final round, it's at a pre-determined time that you have to be there, usually later that same evening. but again, it's about 5 minutes.

Just curious, when you sit down are there a number of credits on the machine to start with? Or do you start at zero and 'losing' spins don't subtract anything, only wins add to your total?

 

if you're talking about tourneys, there are no credits on the machine. it's all free spins. anything you win is added to your total, which starts at 0.

if you're talking about FP, you have to put at least one spin's worth of cash into the machine to start. you load the FP on the machine and then spin. after the spin it re-credits you the amount you spun and takes it off the FP balance. once the FP balance is up, you can keep playing or cash out.

 

I was curious because I have a late flight on the 19th, but I can't stay that night. I assume I won't miss anything, but wanted to make sure.
