Here is something that was pointed out to me. For you slot players, black jack lovers and craps players. Shows a study on $ lost per hour average with odds and bets.
    Table Game

    Avg. loss per 10 hours

    Slots, dollars

    -$800

    Slots, quarters

    -$360

    Slots, nickels

    -$160

    Roulette, $5/spin

    -$80

    MiniBaccarat, $5/hand

    -$80

    Blackjack, $5/hand

    -$80

    Craps, $10/round
    ($5 Pass, $5 odds)

    -$21

Assumptions: Slots played 800 spins/hr. Slot returns are average for Las Vegas Strip & Downtown casinos as published in Jan. 2002 Casino Player (94% for quarters and 95% for dollars). MiniBaccarat, Blackjack, and Craps played at 150, 100, and 30 rounds/hr. respectively. Table games played as per crash course strategies listed below. Table shows mathematical expected result, though results obviously will vary due to short-term fluctuation.

no way you can get 150 hands per hour at Bacc, even mini. 80 per hour is good for mini, 45-50 per hour max for midi.

Its a ten hour study. It says that people lose $21 an hour. If you watch how many ppl play $100 for 3 rolls and out compared to the guy playing for 3 hrs, the numbers don't seem off. I'm way ahead of the curve

Being a craps player as I am unless you are VERY structured and NON superstitious you can and will lose a LOT MORE. TRUST me I speak from experience.

Craps is assuming $5 pass with 1X odds only. I am one of the few players on earth that actually play craps this way. Not surprisingly, I'm bored out of my mind and rarely play craps as a result.

But the swings are less (MUCH LESS) than more than 1x odds, place umbers ( or going through the come.....etc depending on how much $$ or how aggressive ya are.). And a choppy table just kills everyone whether ya play right or from the dark side.

    Blackjack, $5/hand

    100
    1.50%
    $8

100 hands per hour if you're playing heads-up, but with any reasonably filled table it's more like 60-80. And you have to play pretty poorly to give up 1.5%. Anyone getting basic strategy right 95% of the time should only give up 1/2 of that or less. So:
    $5 * 80 * .75 = $3/hour expected loss, or $2/hour with perfect BS.

How could it be a "study"? :evillaugh

It's just basic arithmetic calculating theo you can do in your head. And in fact, as others have pointed out, they even got some of their assumptions wrong.

The craps loss is actually $2.10/hr or $21 per 10 hours according to the site. I point that out because that has been confused by other posters. But this person doing the comparison linked above assumes you will only make a $5 pass line bet on come out rolls only (30 come-out rolls per hour he estimates; I have no idea how accurate that is...probably is close.) $5 x 0.0141 x 30rolls/hr = $2.115/hr But as I said before, betting only $5 on the passline (with odds) is very difficult for most craps players to do. I do it, and I get bored pretty fast.

Thanks for posting it up. This is averages . It's was clearly labeled and still people dispute the info. I'm a more aggressive better on craps than that. All this was supposed to do was show people that play machines the difference compared to table games.

You can't accurately judge play, play rate, odds nor table minimums in the play comparisons.

Indeed, I was just using the OP's terminology "study". But now that someone posted the link, I have indeed seen this before. I think i would do the calculation a different way, but I certainly agree with the conclusion!

PS: I have done the calculation my way, posted here:

    http://rationalpursuit.com/wp/gambling/table-of-games/

This is a site i created for my own use, so not real well explained, but that's how I compare these games.

    Cheers!
