Bally's Jubilee Tower, 9/19-9/22

I arrived at the property around 2:30 on a Thursday; the Total Rewards Platinum line was empty, so check in was quick and easy. I had a North Tower room comped; a $50 a night charge landed me a renovated Jubilee/South Tower room on the 3rd floor from the top. It's worth noting that the Bally's representative was willing to comp me a rollaway bed as there was a third person added to our room at the last minute. I already had a great feeling about this stay because the staffer was so kind, engaging, and helpful. That wasn't always the case at Bally's; perhaps customer service has been emphasized of late?

The room (7124, third floor from the top) was plenty big with more than enough room for the rollaway bed. The bathroom was spacious with a roomy standup shower (no tub). The beds were a little firm, but I always feel guilty for saying that. My personal bed is the softest available Tempurpedic, so I think almost all beds are too firm. In reality, it was probably medium-firm at most. We had a great view looking north up the Strip. That view will only be enhanced, I'm sure, when The Linq project is completed next year.

Staff throughout the property was friendlier than ever before. This included dealers, restaurant servers, and bartenders. One even asked about my shirt, which read, "Provincialism: The Cultural Pandemic". That turned out to be a nice conversation starter. In the past, Bally's employees were often indifferent at best. It was great to see that's no longer true.

I've attached a few photos so you can see the size of the room relative to having a rollaway and two queen beds in there. Thought that might help you gauge the size a little bit.

Sounds like you had a good time! Thanks for posting and the update on the Jubilee rooms. I have a Premium comped for 5 nites in March and looking forward to the room. I'm glad to hear you had a good experience with Bally's staff. We were "wow'd" by them in August....so much that I wrote a letter to CET letting them know the names of the staff that were exceptional. Did you go downstairs to the new food court & if so, what did you think? We are wondering if all the restaurants are accepting TR credits as payment or if not, can charge to room.

 

Thanks for posting the photos of the new Jubilee rooms; I've avoided Ballys for a decade or so because the rooms were worn and dated, but with the remodel and great location, I think I'll give them another try soon especially since you've noted the service excelled!

 

If I have to sleep on a rollaway, it better fucking be comped.


BTW the iron power cord is working up to a dead-of-the-night attack, I'm just sayin'.

 

OK...sort of responding to any and all here. The gambling went well, but I am ashamed: I put $20 on both jokers on that idiotic money wheel thing, and it hit...45 to 1. Later in the trip, it happened again with $10 on both jokers. Other than that, I lost at 3 card, won at 4 car (my favorite game), and dumped a bunch of cash into slots that barely paid off at all. So a winning trip, but not a terribly savvy one!

We didn't eat much at Bally's. The reason is because of that MyVegas game; I had a comped 2 person Aria dinner buffet for Thursday night, a comped two person Aria lunch buffet for Friday, a comped one person Aria lunch buffet (the third guy had shown up by then), and $75 comped on a $150 tab at Tender in Luxor. So my goal was comped Southwest flight, comped room, and as many comped meals as possible. I also used my TR Rewards credits to comp the three of us one other buffet, which was in Bally's. It was a mediocre breakfast that would have otherwise been $11.99 per person. I DID eat breakfast on Sunday at the food court before my flight home. It was actually a pizza place that served a heaping helping of scrambled eggs/toast/bacon/hashbrowns. Sort of standard issue. Might have set me back 12 bucks including OJ.

In regards to the rollaway, I think it's fair to note that my two friends wouldn't know a Vegas comp if it bounced off of their foreheads, so a rollaway is fair I think if I'm literally HANDING YOU my free room. They picked up the remaining tab at Tender in appreciation.

We hung out a lot downtown, east of Fremont. Some really nice local bars there (Don't Tell Mama, Commonwealth). A hooker asked if she could "tuck me in". I declined. Not that you asked.

 

I have been coming to Ballys for years. Love the location, the rooms are big and clean and you can move around Ballys and Paris very easily. The food courts don't accept Total Rewards card. They told me they are independent of the hotel. Sbarros, Johnny Rockets, Nathans and the Ichiban Sushi restaurant do not take the card. The Ballys restaurant and for their buffet, you could use your card. I personally prefer the Paris buffet. Much better food and selection. And if you are at least a Platinum member, you skip all the lines.
