    My first post on VMB!!

Soooo, I used to LOVE Palazzo. Probably stayed there half a dozen times in 2008/2009. Then for some reason, I was no longer feeling the love from them and my offers became just the room, no freeplay or dining credit or anything else.

I believe the last time I used my Grazie card was during Superbowl weekend 2010 and I was staying lsewhere and did a drive by and may have put 10 points on my card

Cut to January 2011, I have a trip coming up the weekend after the superbowl and I get a random email out of the blue from a host at V/P. I used to have an executive host, but she has long ago forgotten I exist. There is the first offer I have had in a while. Just a room, no freeplay, no dining credit, no show tix, just a room. I book Feb10-13. I am looking forward to reconnecting with Venetian/Palazzo. February 11 is my birthday, and I have some friends in town, wouldn't a birthday breakfast at Bouchon be lovely? Then I start hearing of people who were comped on superbowl weekend (the week before my trip) being told No Comp For You! Surely they won't do that to me, right? Palazzo loves me!! On Monday the 7th, I put in a call to my host confirming that I am booked at Palazzo for 3 nights on a comp.

On Wednesday the 9th, I leave work early to go pack and at 5PM my time, I hear my phone ringing. I didn't get to it in time, but I see it is from a 702 area code. Host person leaves a voicemail. He is no longer able to comp my room for the weekend (the one he just told me 2 days ago was comped), but I am welcome to pay the casino rate (yay me!) of something like $129/night.

Have I mentioned that this was my birthday weekend. Adding insult to injury

After hopping on Caesars.com and booking a room at Caesars, I call the host back and tell him what he can do with his casino rate. I vowed to never set foot on Sands Inc property again for the rest of my life

A few months after this, I heard that they had come to their senses and started offering comped rooms again. And every once in a while I will get mailers saying We havent seen you in a while! (I wonder why?) and offering rooms and some free play

I have a trip coming up in early November. I am there for 5 nights and it's a Sunday - Friday deal. I could stay at Caesars for the whole trip comped, but Caesars turns me into a super degenerate gambler and I am light on the bankroll this year. I currently have 3 nights at Aria (2 casino rate, 1 My Vegas reward) and 2 at Caesars. I got a mailer yesterday for up to 3 nights at Ven or Pal. , $275 in free play, and a $30 dining credit. So here's my questions.

    1. Can I trust these people now to honor any comped room that I book once they have given me a confirmation number?

    2. Are the rooms at Palazzo still nice, or are they showing some age?

    3. Do they charge a resort fee on comped rooms? and how much is it?

    4. The fine print has all that language about "based on player maintaining historical play blah blah blah" Considering that I put 10 whole points on my card the last time I used it, will I have anything to worry about if I give them minimal play?
