    Hey everyone,

I've noticed a lot of talk lately about the app/game "MyVegas". Does that really work in getting cheaper or comped rooms? I find it hard to believe it does, but you people tell me different, I'm going to start playing.

Also, I am a MLIFE card holder, but their specials are nothing to write home about from what I've seen. I usually check the hot deals boards, but was wondering what the best way is to get a cheaper room. I've seen then down in the $30-$50 ranges at points. I guess it could hit or miss.

There are many, many, threads about this in the myvegas part of the forum. Either way it is a free game, so really nothing to lose. I play it hardcore because i have the time right now and because i want to get as many points as i can before our trip to get the best deals i want. I don't want to have to settle because i do not have the points.

As for offers from what i have read they seem to be on your play history. If you do not play much you will not get offered much. Seems pretty simple there.

If you search you will probably find what you are looking for pretty easy.

Simple answer about myVegas and comped rooms is yes, you really get comped rooms if you play enough (earn enough Loyalty Points). You simply must pay for the resort fee + fee tax but the rest is comped. It's a free game and no credit card or any form of billing required to play. The only requirement is you need to be an Mlife member when you redeem your rewards.

At some properties, I'm not even sure if you typically get charged the resort fee. This month we had one night at MGM Grand and two at Mirage, and we got zero fees!

In terms of an hourly basis, if you spend LP wisely you can easily get more than $1 comps an hour compared to retail value...and I earn comps much faster playing myVEGAS than I would in the actual casino since I am a low roller!

Here's a good example of a MyVegas benefit.....

I'm a CET player and have no problems getting comped rooms. However, for my Christmas trip Dec 25-Dec 31 i will be staying for 6 nights and CET only comps 5 nights. I'm fine with paying for one night, and it usually gets comped off on the back end. HOWEVER, this year they are sold out of the room I want for the 30th. I double checked this with a host when I was in LV last week.

All my other comp offers for other casinos were not valid for Dec 30th. I could use Hilton Honors points but didn't really want to move off strip (my friend is on-strip the entire trip). I have tons of MyVegas LP's and, when I checked the bonus date calendars, Mirage shows the 30th as an available date.

I seriously doubted that, but bought a reward and called anyway. Sure enough, the 30th was indeed available for a reward room. I purchased a second room reward while I was on the phone with MyVegas and booked both the 29th and the 30th so I can check in on the 29th and move when it's convenient for me. I've always wanted to stay at the Mirage and this gives me an opportunity to try it out.

So, MyVegas provided an opportunity to close a gap I had with comped rooms and I get to try out a new prop 'for free'!

I've been playing MyVegas since December and I've redeemed two nights so far - one at The Mirage and one night recently at Aria. If you play enough its a good way to get comps or discounts since its free to play. Mlife is a great site for discounted rooms but it all depends on when your going I think.

If you haven't already booked that date at Mirage, you may want to see if it's still available. There is quite a bit of confusion about the calendar. The calendar doesn't tell you if there are rooms available, but only tells you if you can use the reward on that date. There are a limited number of rooms that are allowed to be booked via MyVegas on any given day. You may find that the day you want to book has already been sold out if you act too late.

+1 towards previous posts. Myvegas is legit. I just redeemed two nights at mirage and two at aria.

that being said, i've spent at least an hour a day playing the game since march in order to redeem these. so its not the easiest.

I think this whole thing is, well...

A regular player, but not big enough for comps on Superbowl weekend can not get a room.

Mr No-play is busy online and gets a room. What is wrong with this picture?

    Pretty much haha.

MyVegas is fine, but it's a huge time suck, hundreds and hundreds of hours of play to get a free $50 room... think about that. It used to be easier, that's why a bunch of us have redeemed some pretty cool comps. Now the rooms are a bit of a waste.

I'm not a big gambler, but I work it pretty hard to get the best deals possible. You can try Priceline and Hotwire. Websites like SmaterVegas.com. Also sign up for cards everywhere. I dropped $30 at the Venetian right after I signed up in August and they sent me a 3 night comp. You never know what they will send. Also I get good discounts from Mlife all the time, usually not free, but definitely a good deal. Also sweepstakes? Keeps tabs on facebook and twitter, and some googling. I know my local radio stations give away Vegas trips all the time. I've won 2 so far (I am in LA though)

#1 be flexible. If you go on off dates it's really cheap. A few days/week before or after a holiday seems to be the best deal. (like Labor Day, Memorial Day, Christmas). Also be flexible with where you say. Your dates may be $100 for Mirage, but it could be $39 for MGM.. they are comparable. Stay at MGM, it's a 1/3 as much... I usually don't have a specific hotel in mind when I'm booking at trip, it's whoever is offering the best deal.

Chris it's a game on Facebook where you play the slots or table games and earn points. It doesn't cost you anything unless you need to buy creidts to keep playing. You do get free credits every day though so if you don't want to spend any realy money you don't have to.

I actually like playing the games so don't feel like it's a waste. We have comped rooms for MC in Oct and got quite a few other things, buffets mostly. We started back in March so for us, we play almost daily it was six months. Hubby has almost enough points for another room right now.
