So, a few trips ago, I finally got around to getting a B-Connected card (I know, I know…I’ve left literally tens of dollars on the table by not getting scratch cards up until now). And for my next trip, I’d like to take the fine folks at Boyd up on a free room offer for MSS for a night or two.

I know I can find fantastic craps and not-so-good BJ at MSS (and DT in general). But I haven’t done an extensive search of VP pay tables. I’m hoping the MSS and DT regulars can help me out here.

Specifically, I’m looking for info on $1 DDB. Where can I find 9/6 games? Would moving up to $2 or $5 improve my odds of finding such games? Would moving down to a quarter reduce my chances of finding such games?

Multi line games are fine and STP is even better.

MSS is my favorite DT place. So, I’d like to be able to find the game there or at another DT Boyd place. But, I’m more than willing to go elsewhere (DT, that is) if that’s what it takes to find better games.

I don’t really want to “branch out” into other VP variants. But if I could find another high-variance game that offers much better returns, I might be willing to learn a new game.

    Many thanks!

I'm strictly a bartop player, so that is all I'm referencing.
    MSS 9/5 DDB
    Cal 9/6 DDB
There might be better tables on the floor games.

I just don't like the feel of the Fremont, so I don't play there and have no idea what their paytables are for DDB.

    Four Queens also 9/6 DDB
Edit: These are for both quarter and dollar. I did play $5 DDB one time at Cal, and the tables were the same.

Hopefully some DT experts can point you in the right direction.

    In the meantime...

I think you will struggle to find 9/6 DDB at denominations higher than $1. I'm not sure there is that much at any denomination at Boyd places.

Obviously downtown has decent VP generally. 9/6 DDB is a poor game for downtown.

If you were willing to branch out, 10/7 DB would be the obvious game. 100.17% return for perfect play. Available at the $1 level at MSS and other places. I think the game requires 3x coin-in for the same points at Boyd so that might be a consideration.

My experience is that DB strategy is not too difficult to learn but it does require slightly different thinking to J0B/BP/DDB. Lots of holds of 3 to a flush and 3 to a straight which take a while to remember.

There is 9/6 DDBP triple play on the east wall of MSS. Quarter.

There is single line 9/6 DDBP quarter scattered around casino, but not at bar.

The Four Queens has the best 9/6 DDBP anywhere. Has progressives on each 4OAK, but NOT on the royal. Available at all three bars!

I play DDB DT a lot. The only VP game I play.

You can find $1 and $2 9/6 DDB STP at the D. Also 9/6 up to $25 denom at the D as well, in the high limit area. Only place DT that has 9/6 higher than $1.

MSS has a few 25cent 9/6 STP, most are 9/5, as with other places DT.

El Cortez has 9/5 DDB on the Ultimate X machines.

As for regular single line machines,

El Cortez has lots in quarters to dollars.

    D has some upstairs.

Four Queens at the bars only.

Binions has them on scattered slant tops all over the casino.

GN, no 9/6, best is 9/5 at dollars

    Fremont, I don't really like, can't comment.

Vegas Club has a few old coin droppers in 25c and 50c , and dollars on a few really big cabinets on back wall.

    Plaza has nothing now.

Golden gate has it at $1. 9/5 at the bar with royal progressives.

MSS scattered in casino. Cal on the bartops, unsure of the casino.

    La bayou has 6/5 lol.

Sounds like I'll have to belly up to one of 4Q's bars then!

    Carve...

Not DT but thought I'd mention that we took a day/evening trip out to RR this last trip and the FP VP is all over the place and they seem to really focus on DDB. They had a ton of progressive DDB banks and some had the Sequential RF and the Reverse Sequential RF and the JP's if you hit one of these at the $1 level were incredibly huge....like over $150K.

If you've never been out there it's about as clean and tidy as Wynncore but obviously is going to have a more local flavor. We really liked the casino, pool and layout in general. My only complaint would be it seemed a little smokier than Wynn or Bellagio but then again it was Friday night and the locals had the place packed. We used Presidential limo to get out there and our driver said that Fri and Sat was the busiest you'll ever see it and we could still easily find machines to play...just more smokers there those nights.

FYI - I asked the cabbie we used to go to MJ1 and he said about $55 to RR and Presidential was $85....as much as I dislike grumpy bitching cabbies, the extra $30 each way was a no-brainer:poke:

Good info, Dino. I might have to check it out.

I need to switch things up for my next trip. Not too much – maybe a night or two elsewhere then back to Wynn – but I think I need to try some new things. While I’m a fan of the familiar, at some point it can start to feel like a rut. (Funny how it always seems like a rut after a big beat down.)

On the strip, there aren’t too many places left that I’m interested in trying out – maybe MB or MGM to get the south strip perspective or perhaps Cosmo (but I’m going to give them some more time to hopefully get their shit together). Right now, I’m leaning towards a short downtown or off strip stay.

The good thing about MSS is that I can get it comp’d upfront and if I don’t dig the vibe or if I’m losing my ass, I can take a short walk to another casino. That luxury doesn’t really exist with an M or Red Rock. But then, the accommodations at those two places would probably be more in line with what I’ve been spoiled with at Wynncore.

Odds are that I’ll probably just stay in my rut though. But we’ll see.

I understand totally. That was me last trip but I have to tell you...Bellagio was nice as well as the extra FB $$ and limo but our next trip will be back to Encore. We really missed the ambiance there (most of the time) even though we didn't do well gambling, I honestly never even felt like I was going to win....Bellagio just didn't have the mojo for me or my wife. I know a lot of that is BS but I can't explain it....I win where I feel the vibe and it makes my whole mind set different.

I was getting slammed on DDB and all the machines were hitting 2 pair a LOT so I switched to BP. The biggest hits I had were 4 Aces on the $2 machines for $800 and a few on the dollar machines for $400. I was getting so many 2 pr that it didn't even bother me when I hit Aces playing BP because I knew if I wasn't, I'd have been blown out of the game long ago.

If we're in town 6-7 nights our next trip, I may very well stay at RR for 2 of them just to see what I think.

It's hard for me to play DDB at Four Queens because of the suited progressives for royals on the other games. A few years ago I hit one for $6,800+ upstairs at Chicago Brewing Co bar.
