Decent Restaurant for around $100 for two people?

Staying at the Venetian and my wife and I want to have once nice dinner at a good place. We both brought one real nice pair of clothes that we want to wear for this dinner. We don't want to go bankrupt eating so around $100 is where we want to be at. We aren't going to be drinking alcohol so no added expense there. Any great restaurants you guys recommend in or around our hotel that we can wear fancy shmancy clothes to?

 

really depends on what you order and how many courses. Tender at Luxor has good reviews as does the Steakhouse at Excalibur. A lot of people love the steakhouse at Bally's, but that is closing shortly. The Flame at El Cortez is very affordable with the 50% coupon in the ACG. Now if you do a Kobe beef or dry aged steak, you will easily pass your limit with entrees alone

 

Mon Ami Gabi at the Paris Casino. They specialize in Steak Frittes. It is the must stop when we go to Vegas. Just make reservations through there web site or open table (save yourself the usual wait).

 

Highly recommend Charlie Palmers in the Four Seasons Hotel. Their "Cut of the Week menu" is a 3 course prix fixe with unlimited wine pairings for $48/person. Even if you don't drink any wine, it's a great deal for a very good steakhouse and is a great place to dress up. Best dining deal in LV, IMO.

I agree with casinoboy about location. But I do believe that the OP needs to raise the limit up to $200 and they will be able to find many restaurants in the V/P. Here is link to choices and menus.

Vegas is casual and the strip is pricy. So finding a good restaurant where everyone dresses up on the strip for $100 for two is a fairly difficult task. I think that if one of those requirements could be “relaxed” there would be many more responses. You can have good food, you can have a “dressy” environment, you can have $50 per person…I just don’t think you can have all three in the heart of the strip.

If Circus Circus can be considered “nearby”, how about The Steakhouse there? I’ve not been there myself, but it seems to get very good reviews.

 

My mom and I loved Emeril's Table 10 at Palazzo. We bought a discount voucher at a Tix4Tonight booth before going (20% off food I think) and really enjoyed our meal. Depending on what you order (and with no alcohol as you mentioned) you could make your $100 budget easily.

 

sans alcohol, $100 is doable. however, if that includes tax and tip, you're really more like $75. so you're going to be looking at the lower-end nice places as the top-end places are going to be $50+ just for a steak.

 

You can dress as fancy as you like at any mid- to upper-level restaurant and not really feel out of place in Las Vegas. Just don't expect everyone in the restaurant to be dressed very nicely as well. I've eaten at Canaletto, Bouchon and Pinot Brasserie at Venetian and all would fit the bill, in my opinion. The problem is that none of the meals I had at those places were especially memorable. Canaletto has a nice setting in St. Mark's Square.

 

To clarify my earlier statement about not being able to have it all for $100, this is what I meant:

You can have a nice meal for $100 and dress as nicely as you want. But, dress codes are only enforced at the priciest of places on the strip.

 

That's true, but my SO and I, for instance, ate at Gordon Ramsay's Steak and split the expensive steak. The waiter even suggested we do so, so they had no problem doing it. They even sliced it for us to share it easily. Then we spent the rest of our "budget" on ordering sides (also to share) and an appetizer each. Our bill was around $100, I think. We dressed nicely but we weren't ultra dressy, I suppose.

 

Oh, and our steak was plenty big enough to share -- more than enough!
