Food, Food, Food. Not sure what though. Just had a wild and crazy 10 hour drive, dealing with flooding and road closures in New Mexico and then around Flagstaff, such heavy rain that it had people driving 10-20 miles an hour on the interstate. The drive should have taken me 7 hours. I might just get a slice of pizza and then walk around to get the cobwebs out which is just crazy talk, I mean usually, I am all about having that first beer and BJ bet down within 30 minutes of arriving. I sense this might be a different trip from my norm. Plan on updating as much as possible!

Check in took all of 5 minutes, no line at all. I am comped on MLife Corp offer, was supposed to be Park Avenue but they bumped me up to Madison I think so I could have a non smoking room. I can see the Hard Rock Cafe and M&M store out window so that will do!

Sorry, cant get this link to work for some reason. Go to you tube. Search Alicia Keys New York. The live version is awesome and appropriate!

Well, Alicia got it right, the streets (or tables/machines) were MEAN to me last night. I tried everything, a little BJ, a little video poker, a little Pai Gow Poker (who said your money there lasted a long time?). I have attached my pics of winning hands from Video Poker (notice there are NONE). It was brutal, down about $700 and stayed up till 5am doing that nonsense.

Now it was fun being at NYNY on a Fight night. I did take a break at one point and wonder over to the MGM Grand. Have to say I haven't seen so many people dressed to kill like that in a long time. And wow, the table limits on the floor were crazy. I had intended to play some Pai Gow but when I walked around at I am guessing it was midnight ish, they had 4 tables open. Minimums were $50,$100,$200 and $500. I can honestly say, in 24 years of playing Pai Gow, never seen a $500 minimum.

Had one of the worse drunk players I have ever seen at a table. Couldn't believe what they were putting up with. As in at one point he commented to dealer "You want to F... me, don't you, I know you do". They kept serving him alcohol and his shots. Then at one point, a very pretty lady sat down at roulette wheel across the pit from our table and she was with a gentlemen probably early 60's, she is maybe mid 30's. He starts screaming across the pit, saying "no way is she with him, I am better looking than him" crap like that. It really was pretty bad and I thought the casino should have cut him off long long time ago. Okay, there were a few moments of hilarity with the guy but at some point it becomes obnoxious and quickly.

Hmmm, what shall I do today? (and where is that best hangover remedies thread? lol)

Ugh, don't single coin an 8/5 JoB $5 machine! Find a dollar machine that pays the same or even better! They also have 9/6 JoB at the $5 level that you could single coin, and that's at the bar, so likely better drink service! But if they have 9/5 JoB for dollars at the bars (i dunno), that's better than single coining 9/6 JoB for $5.

Good luck; hit a big one!

Head back to the Pai Gow poker tables at NYNY during the morning/afternoon shift and wait for Tai-Sun, Phong or Air to deal - then your luck will change (or at least their friendly smiles will help you deal with the pain of getting over-served from their super-quick cocktail waitresses!!)

(or look for Won (yup, that's her name) in the slots area and order from her)

Wow! Never thought I would read a thread naming Won. She is the best CW ever. And we have seen and been served by hundreds, maybe thousands. She is very dedicated to serving customers. She will put a smile on your face even if you are losing. Back in 2001 we met Won after losing big in the old HL room. Jennifer was our CW there (another awesome CW).

Hey, I can see the top of The Mansion and some of the walls. Very cool and probably the closest I will ever come to seeing the Mansion! :D

How can you not discuss slot play at NYNY without mentioning Won? She will chat you up for a long time (enough to tick off other customers). Wonderful person who insists that my beverage is always full!!

I've never seen a $100 minimum Pai Gow table, much less a $500 table..

Well, as the gambling continues to go south, now down a $1000 for the trip, at least I finally got off my arse and made it to LOVE show. Wasn't sure what to expect but really enjoyed it. There is so much going on during the show, I believe I could go see it again and still be entertained. And lo and behold, I actually had a winning session of Pai Gow after the show. Okay, buy in was 100 and walkaway was 125 but I will take that.

My last 2 nights are a comp at the Gold Coast, pretty basic room on the 4th floor but bed comfortable enough , and room clean so that is all I care about. Had fun hanging out with the locals for about 4 hours playing some Pai Gow, but dropped another 200. Pool time is calling me! Hope the DJ is not too loud! (that is a joke folks, no party scene at the Gold Coast)

Pretty sure this is the smallest casino pool I have ever been at and at age 56, I might be the youngest person here, lol BUT it is blessedly quiet which is I want I need right now
