First Thing You Do When You Get To Vegas

Was going to make a poll of it, but thought it'd be more fun to hear specifics...

So what's the first step you make when you arrive at your destination? (Minus leaving the airport, tipping the cabbie, parking in the hotel garage, etc)

Usually for us, it's grab our bags out of the trunk (anything with valuables), check in, take our bags to the room, scope out our upgraded suite , fall into place by strolling around close to the hotel, and deciding where and what to eat, have a casual meal, then go back to the car and get our remaining items (cooler, booze, her bag of shoes lol).

I'm curious to see both ends of the itinerary. From checking in and crashing in the room to arriving, skipping check in and hitting the strip, clubs, fine dining.

Normally we have our routine down, and that's the way we like it... It's our initiation to our getaway. Everything after that is usually on the fly, unless we have made reservations for dinner or a show.

 

First thing?

I brush my teeth, floss, mouthwash. 4 hours of breathing stale air during the flight leaves a nasty taste in one's mouth.

Find my first frozen drink with an extra shot of the trip.

I flip on the TV and listen to Steve explain how his hotels represent the absolute pinnacle of human achievement. When the bellman arrives, I unpack, iron a few things, mix a drink and have a smoke.

Then, after washing my face and brushing my teeth, it's off to gamble!

 

I get twitchy if I don't unpack straight away, but after that it's a stock up trip to Walgreens.

 

You iron a few things? I'm confident those STP machines play better in wrinkled clothing.....

 

I check in, carry the bags up to the room with my wife, kiss her goodnight, and hit the strip!

 

have the butler unpack our bags and send my shirts out for ironing and grab a drink and relax before dinner.

 

After checking in......drop suitcases in room, put toiletry items in bathroom & RUN to the casino for my 1st of many, many drinks while playing my 1st machine. Waste no time.....that is why we go to LV!! Then after relaxing just a bit.....decide on where to start the Buffet of Buffets that night since we seldom eat much, if at all while at the airport or on the plane.

 

Even threads that have been around before are okay. There are always new posters and fresh comments. Brand spanking new subjects can be few and far between.

 

You might be on to something! I wore my wrinkled clothes the first night - when I couldn't lose. After that it was all downhill...in freshly pressed clothes.

Well, from now on, I'm sleeping in every damn article of clothing I wear to Vegas. After all, the hookers won't mind. :evillaugh

 

i like to go to the bar to play some JOB and have a few cold ones. then eat a good meal and hit the tables

 

Well, in the old days, I'd make sure the lights and the TV remote all worked, and that the "Do Not Disturb" sign hadn't been stolen. Then I'd freshen up, and head for the nearest bank of slot machines. These days? I stash my luggage in the bathroom, break out the flashlight, and check for bedbugs!

 

She won't want to go out night 1?
