    My Trip Report

First TR so please bear with me,and w/no Royal pix you can stop reading now :wink

Ok,Flew into St Louis on SW with a couple hour layover to LAS.Nice and sunny and being my first time there was cool seeing the Arch and Busch Stadium, landing a few minutes later.Went out for a smoke but curbside with nowhere to sit and just watch the shuttles and cars drop off airport employees and passengers..Did notice some impending dark clouds on the way..

Then the monsoon came that lasted over an hour..Blew $30 in the bar watching the storm and the DirectTV frozen up Cards game..weather cleared up and we took off landed on time in LV...C gates and long walk to baggage but who cares you are finally there!

Saw my bag right away but could not get the handle up past 4 inches or so..Didn't want to break it so I did a hunched over walk to the cab line and I was first in line.Cabby w/no Tunnel and was checked in at the GC pretty quick.Fare was too much to leave a $20,gave him $23 and said thanks for not tunneling me.

Picked up some beer in the gift shop (25% off in Sept.)and headed upstairs with first goal in mind to try and fix the broken handle on the suitcase.I crack a beer and get to work...
Open it up and everything up top is wet..Laptop packed in the middle survived thanks to jeans and shirts absorbing the rainstorm.Fire that up and it's ok and then lay out the wet clothes on the other bed..

Once I get all unpacked I find the handle problem was a dent in the frame and get that half-way straightened out so semi-fixed for rest of trip..

Make a run down to the ice machine to create the bathroom sink beer cooler with just my room key...which gives me a yellow light upon multiple tries to get back into the room. And I am all the way down from the elevators..

Go back down to front desk and get new keys..with no ID.Luckily the girl who just checked me in was still there.
Now I'm thinking this is not the way to start a trip and finally get down to the casino..Play a little at the Bombay slot (Only slot I play cause a friend got me hooked on it) and do well from the start,up $100.

My game of choice though is DDB VP and the back bartop progressives were all handpay $..tried to repeat my one and only Royal there but did not happen.Same thing the next day,hot dog for lunch and dinner at Fridays then off to the Rio on Tuesday moring.

Buddy of mine is CET diamond and came in from Philly that afternoon with one night comped and I had the rest.He got an upgrade to a Samba room (1951 Impanema tower)..Wow we took 15 minutes looking around.Better than a Palazzo/Venetian suite easily.Of course we tried to stay there the next few nights, but no way..
3 tvs,2 bathrooms dining table, living room nice kitchen bar etc.Wow.

Next day was the move to the usual suite comped on my card but $85 for Saturday night.
Neither of us had any quality DDB vp hands though quite a few 4oak's.
One day drove to GVR for the Full Pay machines and no luck. And so the week went with no big hits.
Last day on Monday made a lot back with multiple 4ok's and a parlay on MNF Houston ML and Eagles ML..but fun time playing bartop VP at the Rio book with a guy from AZ on my right.
We were trading quads,I'd hit then he'd hit, back and forth..good time.
We were both playing Quarters but made some comeback $100's..

Was up at 5:30 Tuesday and tried to cash my winning sportsbet ticket at the cage at 6am (Like the sign at the window says) but the girls said sometimes the computer does not come up at all untill the book opens..So I have a check in the mail coming..

I hit the first cab in line and the driver starts heading to the freeway..
I ask him why at 6:15 in the morning are you not just taking the usual route? He switched lanes and we crossed the freeway, then a ride on the Strip.
He was an ass and I left him a $20..But he knew he was busted.
I hate how a driver looks at the way I am dressed and thinks this is a long -haul candidate.
Guess that's about it..Dinner at the Rio was mostly take-out from the Rio Sportsbook grill..Order half-size,everything is huge..

Flight back on SW with A-20 to STL since the exit row seats are taken,I take the last row aisle left.Full flight.Lady takes the window and then some borderline obese guy has to take the middle. His fat covered both armrests..and he don't need armrests anyway as his folded arms just rest all flight on his stomach into my shoulder and the lady's while he sleeps the flight away.
If I was that fat I'd pay the EB and try to get a window with a middle seat left open..Man.

Bottom line won some lost some.met some very nice people and ran into a couple assholes...good trip. Thanks for reading. Best wishes everyone on your next trips

Thanks for the trip report. Sounds like you had a good time and the gambling wasn't too bad. Some times, that's the best you can hope for.

Short and sweet; I haven't seen the new Samba "actual" suites at Rio yet...any photos? Would love to see them as they may lure me back. Miss the early Rio Marnell days!

Thanks for sharing! I'm sorry that you had a layover at Lambert Airport. I'm pretty ashamed it's my hometown airport...

Thank you for posting the photos; very nice. You don't often see a suite with two beds, so that's a nice bonus.
