I've watched a game at 777 before. Have a group of 5 guys staying downtown in early December. Where would you watch a game and why?

Plaza Sportsbook. Good, large TVs, $10 buckets of beer at the adjacent bar, Pop Up Pizza close by, and decent seating for 5.

I'm assuming your talking about Saturday / Sunday football.

If I could get places to sit at the bar, I'd have to consider the bar upstairs at The Cal. It won't be jammed with to many people, $2 bottles of Stella and Heineken and the sports book is right there.

I'd also look into the book at The Plaza. It's a big place, not sure how much seating they have.

The Nugget would be my first choice but the book is pretty small. You would have to get there pretty early on a Saturday and Sunday to get a place to sit. I've had to stand in the past.

Fremont has a book but not much seating. As you already know 777 is a good option if you don't need quick access to a book.

The D opens the 12th floor Ballroom with dining room tables. Never been there for a game but will be there Sunday. There is a crap table up there and I heard they play BJ.

The Plaza is also good choice with short tables and tall bar tables to sit at. These were taken from right in front of the good sized island bar.

I enjoy watching games at Benny's Bullpen, in the back of Binions. Sports book right outside. Video poker and football bets in the same spot. Heaven.

Forget about The D. They only open it for March Madness now.

I just got a response back from the Plaza Sportsbook. They do not reserve tables, but they give out a drink ticket for every 20 bucks bet. However, they did say that they only give out a max of 6. I wager on 25 to 35 games on a Saturday so, I hope the $10 beer bucket was not a typo there.

Not a typo. Last time I was there they had $10 buckets (5 beers) of Coors. And Dos Equis bottles were $2.

I just found the Golden Nugget opens the poker room for football. They have drink, pizza and sandwich specials.

The poker room is pretty small for weekend football. The flier mentions the Events Center. Probably a good option depending on drink and food costs.

You're right. After I went back to check it out I saw the seating was mostly poker tables and they were closer to the screens than the dining tables. The drinks start at $6 for a domestic bottle of beer. $3 for bottled water.

If you just want to drink beer and watch the games try Radio City Pizza. Excellent views of multiple TV's from any table with comfy chairs. $1 Bud\Bud Light pints or bottles. $2 slices. Located on the NE corner of LVB and Fremont St.

I think those prices are higher than last year. Perhaps they raised prices to pay for the ipad. The giveaways have otherwise been the same. I could be wrong
but I think last year the prices were either 5.99 or 6.99 per food item?

$6 bucks for a beer and $3 for a bottle of water at the GN? No thanks. They do give out drink tickets for ever $100 wagered. I will try the Plaza and the Fremont.

Any other things people have seen recently with the downtown sportsbooks?

    Thanks.

Technically the best football viewing is at Daves Bar upstairs at the Cal.
They have 3 or 4 tables and chairs away from the bar. It is basically a BYOB set of chairs. I always keep my room stocked and just hit the elevator 5 feet away when I need more. Just have someone hold your spot. Cheap beers and no need for tips.
