As we all watch the High Roller construction, what do you think happens next?

    The outside wheel is done.

Supporting the ring of the wheel are the blue support beams inside.

Eventually, the Blue support beams will be removed, and the cables that look like bicycle spokes will replace the whole inner wheel.

So the question is...... wait for it...... wait for it....

Will the blue support beams remain in place as the outside people cabins are installed?

    Or

Will they install the bicycle spokes as the next part of the construction, and then the people cabins get added last?

Get your bets in soon, for we will soon find out (lol) based on the web cam.

Any takers on the next step? :woohoo:

They are quickly removing the blue spokes, but no capsules have been installed.

The temporary blue supports are not necessary once the perimeter of the wheel is completed (which is now). However, the wheel cannot support the pods without all the cables in place.

First the cables, then the pods.

When they built the one in Seattle last year, the gondola's were the last step.

I think it looks better with the blue spokes.

I thought this was going to be a question about what happens first once it is operational?

My guess would be one person puking on someone next to them, below them, or leaning out the window and hitting someone on the ground who is looking up!!

    First suicide?

    First time it breaks down?

Open or closed during high winds?

    etc, etc, etc

How long until a timeshare salesman makes his way into one of the pods? Captive audience for a half hour. Or until he’s beaten to death with Eiffel Tower drinks, I suppose.

I've ridden the "Eye" in London and it moves so slow, there was no puking, etc. Just a great way to get a fantastic view of the city. I'm assuming the High Roller will be similar.

I did screw up on this one. By the time I post this, the blue expansion pokes where already being removed.

I wish I could take credit for what others have already posted...

    Such as..

We thought this post was about what will happen first, puking, needing a piss, and what ever.

So... Nope I miss those great thoughts. I have been waiting for someone to start a new post on this.

So, please note, I understand this is not my idea, and lets start again..

With the proper post, thanks everyone..

    That'd make for a good t-shirt:

"I had sex with a hooker in the world's largest Ferris wheel and all I got was this shirt...and probably an STD."

Who will be the first to join the "550' High Club."

Doesn't quite have the cachet of the Mile High Club, but close. :evillaugh
