I seldom suffer from insomnia; but have been up for a couple hours, gave up all hope of getting back to sleep, and so made the coffee. Will be leaving for the airport before sunup and will probably fall asleep at the tables once I get there! I've made several solo trips before, and often spend a few days in Vegas by myself until Ms. Gecko can escape from work, but this is my first totally solo trip in many years. Maybe that's the reason I'm up. I have no plans whatsoever, but it's bound to be interesting.

Have a great trip! I visited Suncoast for the first time this summer and have enjoyed playing Bonus Deluxe VP at the bar there.

I like the Suncoast also, there is a FatBurger inside, hmm, I can taste it now. Have had pretty good luck there also, hit a .25 royal in May and a Straight Flush in Pai Gow Poker for $750.

Sucks about not sleeping but I am prone to that myself before a trip, especially a fun Las Vegas trip. Don't do what I have done in past, eventually fall asleep and then sleep through alarm clock!

    Have a great trip!

    Thanks all.

FatBurger in Suncoast? Not unless they got one since I was there in July. Are you sure you have the right casino? Sounds good though, even at this ungodly hour. I think this is my 15th consecutive stay there!

Crap no, I am constantly getting the Suncoast and Sunset Station mixed up. I was at Sunset. Sorry about that!

Well, seems as if you are not so tired that you have your suns confused.

I have insomnia often and certainly every trip. Getting on the plane with noise reduction earphones and a blinder and just trying to zone out for the flight helps me.

Winning once I get there also helps. Hope that happens.

The older I get, the more difficult it is to sleep.

This thread strikes a chord with me. I get so rummy in Vegas for lack of sleep. It's a good reason to book a few extra days so the excitement kind of hits a happy, slightly more calm level.

BTW, when I am tired I normally lose. I often wonder if I make too many mistakes.

Survived first day, but not by much. Was extremely tired and had more than a few Dos Equis's. Still managed to come out slightly ahead after 4 hours at bj. Rested now, so will go back into battle this morning. Then move from Suncoast to Sam's Town sometime today.

Turtle....hope you have a great trip! I've never done a solo...it would definitely be different and could be fun in some ways. My wife loves Vegas as much as I do...not sure I'd ever get out the door w/o her:evillaugh

I get in today at 5:30 P.M. I should be hitting Sam's Town Tuesday or Wednesday. I'll look for the turtle on top of the VP Machines.

Jim: regetably, the turtle didn't come with me this time; it's truly a solo trip! (I do miss him, however, and he'll be coming with us next month.) I'm afraid that carrying Vern around by myself, while wearing my "I Love My Turtle" shirt, could get me picked up as a loon.

Will you be at the Cash Grab at Sam's? Maybe we can meet for a drink.

Dean: solo beats not going at all! Ms. Gecko's in Belgium until Friday, and we meet up at the ATL airport that afternoon. Skyped with her this morning and she's really looking forward to our Halloween trip.

I fell asleep after reading VMB trip reports..and had Vegas insomnia all night long.

The problem is - I don't leave for a month!

    Have Fun!

    Turtleman -
Good idea leaving Vern at home.....on a solo trip.
People might avoid you w/ the "get up".
And on a solo trip --
having a conversation or two, is especially welcomed.
    .
    No downtown, this trip ?
